In regards to recent responses on upcoming double VIP points not being great deal, where would you expect to find a better deal on any set like a GB Headquarters or any other existing UCS for that matter (for me wanting Tie Fighter)?  *Sorry would have used the quote functionality here, but my phone is not allowing it at the moment.

At the time, Poe's X-Wing was being discussed, not exclusives.  Others use discount gift cards at retailers, Amazon or TRU rewards, etc. to sweeten the deal on exclusives.

Mods should be encouraging purchasing from LEGO Shop at Home and using the site links... Brickpicker does not get any credit for in store purchases with TRUTH so it seems a little silly to steer buyers away from purchasing directly from LEGO and giving the site credit for using the links to save a couple bucks and have to go in the store... There a re lots of reasons for purchasing from LEGO Shop at Home especially during Double VIP ex it should not need to be explained to you.

Amazon prices are still better on most items,  though I could get a 75919 Irex for  $112... That's about the best deal.

Best price I've seen on 75102 is $79 at the one WM that still has it in stock. Otherwise totally unavailable where I live. I missed the $71 Amazon deal. If I buy during double VIP, I pay $80 and get 160 points back, plus hopefully a few bonus items (Nexo Knights anyone?). To me that's a decent deal. I have no money right now for expensive modulars - my LEGO money is tied up in my store stock. That was all there was to my thinking. Of course, if I find a WM that discounts 75102 to $39 I'll be all over that, but as of now the set that I'd like to buy (because my son will want one once our pre-ordered TFA DVD comes in in April)  is best bought using 2xVIP for me. Naturally, if LEGO sends out a whole new supply to all stores in the next few weeks, my opinion might change, but this is currently a limited availability item.

Hey, I was just giving options.  I bought one in the LEGO Store sometime last Fall. I can't remember if it was double-VIP, Gingerbread House or Christmas Train time, but all I know is that's the set my son wanted and I bought it then.

KMart.com has the 60050 - City: Train Station on sale for $51.99.  It's not marked Hot Buy, so you can apply a $5 off $50 and maybe another coupon on top.  I was able to stack the $5 off, $15 back on $40, used points down to $40, and then applied a discount gift card.

Yes, possibly, those are emailed to me sometimes and usually included in big long advertisement emails.  I've been getting a slew of them lately.
