Ok, so anyone that hasn't read the spoilers yet.. .Don't pull a me, and do that before going to see this.  It will make you go in potentially thinking you are about to have a Phantom Menace experience.

Fortunately, that was not the case.  I really liked the movie, although there's some aspects I didn't like.  Regardless...  I wouldn't rank this one as the "best" or anything like that.  It still below Empire, A New Hope, Rogue One, and Jedi.. .but it blows The Force Awakens out of the water and is better than all the prequel films.  The story was well paced, and overall it flowed very well.  The Canto Blight sequence was sort of unnecessary in the grand scheme of things, but it shows that Poe's ego was a little too brash, and he needs to learn to quell it..  He really was destructive to the resistence in this film.

As for Lego sets, what's really left for the to make? I can only think of the Canto Blight Police Ship, and eventually a UCS supremecy.

I thought the Movie was way better than TFA but it had some similarities compared to the last movie. I'm glad I went in the movie without any high expectations because I am glad to have enjoyed it all of the way through. There are some things I thought could've been better but that will be a conversation for a later date.

after seeing TFA: i dint care for it, but then after seeing it a 2nd+ time i picked it apart what i liked & didn't like and in the end it grew on me and i started to enjoy it

TLJ: i knew what to expect from TFA initial thought: i didn't love it or hate it, i will need that time to pick it apart like i did with TFA and i'm sure i will enjoy it, after the dust settles

otherwise there is so much to say, question, wonder, speculate, an so on. we went with 10 people after work and seen the midnight show in 3-d i dunno call me plain, but i like regular non 3-d, i am going to take my wife and son today to see it a 2nd time in theater.

can i be invited to the thread to talk about the movie play itself please, thanks

If distance was an issue for destroying that ship. Couldn’t a few destroyers just go to the required distance to destroy it? Also there was no mention at all that the resistance just blew up the planet killer base and a boat load of new order just died. Nothing I really remember anyhow.

Exactly or at the least some TIE fighters and bombers.

While I don't hate this movie, there are many things that don't sit with me very well about this film.  I must say with the divisive nature that Disney is taking this franchise, they are now treading on dangerous ground.

Think about it - if the Han Solo movie is a total bomb, and people throw rotten tomatoes at it worse than they are at the Last Jedi, this could create a steamroll effect that might leave this franchise tanking with each subsequent release.  By the time episode 9 hits, fans will probably give it a chance, but if it's a real stinker, and the rotten tomatoes get tossed even harder, I think this could be the death of the brand.  No one (ok, maybe a few millennials) will care about Rian Johnson's new trilogy, and I think disney will have trouble hyping it up.  At that point, the Star Wars legacy will be strictly based on nostalgia of the original 3 films, and will start to get the DC label - where everyone knows the movies are going to be crap, but they have ICONIC characters.  At that point, all those iconic characters will be dead, so most of the fanbase will have already shut the door.

With that being said, I watched Episode III last night.

I have the least issue with how they handled Luke in VIII. Do I wish he would have left the island to join in the adventure, sure. The rest of the film is what I have the most issue with. Basing the main plot around a cruiser being stuck and safe from an Imperial bombardment was one of the dumbest decisions in the franchise.

James Bond and Fast and Furious have both done just fine despite losing their main actors.

It´s normal that the franchise evolves with new blood, after all the OT target audience is getting older too.

For me they should never have made anything after ROTJ but the brand is just too strong not to use.

People were saying this was as good as Empire....blasphemy!

I softened my opinion slightly.  I still think it’s a major misfire. Speaking of Empire.:  Another thing that bothers me is the lack of romance.  The closest thing we get is the creepy bond between Kylo and Rey.

I have never seen a star wars film be so polarizing.  I put the movie on par with Revenge of the Sith and I didn't really like that movie much either.

When can we start adding spoilers?

Neither of those films are the major blockbusters that constantly become one of the top 10 grossing films of all time.  Star Wars has done that consistently.  But, I think by the time rian johnsons trilogy hits, it could start to wear thin.  By then many of us might have bailed on "force friday" events, and there will be a big "meh" when new waves or new figures are released.  Star Wars lego sets will no longer have much appeal like it did before the ST, and the action figure market will go phantom menace.

Like many on here, we have a closet stuffed full of Star Wars action figures and lego sets... and I find myself really buying less as it is.  I no longer blindly collect entire themes or waves, and mostly just bricklink minis my son wants.  Back during the Force Awakens, I bought most of the initial wave of sets before the movie hit.  This year, I bought one to put under the tree for my son- Kylo's Silencer, and i'm not sure i'll buy anymore of the first wave.  The second wave is a little better, and I plan on picking up at least the Ach-to set once it comes out.  I'll have no qualms adding a Throne Room battle if that comes out, which it should come summer time.

So, here we are 3 films into the disney era, and I already see cracks forming on the wall, and it starting to tumble down.  I hate to see that too, because those of us that grew up with the OT remember what it once was like.  Unfortunately that era is looking more and more dead in the past.

It took a long time for Force Awakens merchandise to exit the market, and some of this stuff I can still walk into a toys r us or walgreens and find it on clearance.
