Migration Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Please let this rumor be wrong roller coaster (awesome) friends? (Noooooooo!!!!!!!) http://minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/lego-41130-amusement-park-roller-coaster-100-in-2016/ Quote
TheOrcKing Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 This set is under the 41000 numbering system typically reserved for the Friends line (Livi's Pop Star House is 41135 as an example) so this shouldn't be a surprise. I imagine it will be some sort of junior coaster as the girls now go into the realm of amusement parks. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Not wrong. There's a couple of other sets for a Friends Amusement Park subtheme this summer (most notably is a Friends Hot Dog Van). I've seen this rumor over on Eurobricks and I believe it was confirmed by one of the "good sources" over there. It definitely piques my interest. I'll either get it or redo it in other colors, for my own Fairground. I'm excited to see pictures. Quote
HandyHand Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Overview of the new Friends Amusementpark sets in one picture: Rollercoaster, Ferris Wheel ... 5 Quote
gregpj Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I imagine this will be nice for Friends collectors, but overall I think it's a stinker. They couldn't even make new colors for the 6x6 dishes that cover the ferris wheel seats. The big ferris wheel has green, yellow and purple. 3 Quote
HandyHand Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Agree. This looks rather pathetic. But maybe LEGO is afraid that people who buy Friends sets don't want really large elaborate sets. I don't of course have sales-statistics of the largest Friends sets, but that could be a reason. Smaller sets with simple play features may sell better to the target demography... Quote

Pedilego Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I'll third that sentiment, but that's not a bad point, Haay. Still, the tweaked-track-track roller coaster approach doesn't even allow for modding for ppl to make a "real" one with legit rises and falls etc. Quote

And it's at least something to start with. I could actually see myself using that as a base to try to MOC something a bit more in line with the rest of the Fairground theme. I just needed some inspiration. This is also an easy way for LEGO to do market research on the potential popularity of a much bigger rollercoaster. 1 Quote
Darth_Raichu Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 It reminded me of similar sets Mega Bloks created under their Hello Kitty line a few years back.. Quote

Well it's a junior coaster alright as would be expected under anything outside of Creator Expert. The build seems decent from this awkward photo. What gets me is seeing the track pieces in such a wild color. Are those the flexible sort? I would hope so. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 They look like the standard track pieces to me. If you look at the track in 6857 - Joker's Funhouse, you'll see some of the same pieces. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 A significantly better lit image of the Rollercoaster. 2 Quote
Roy vd M. Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Beside the ferris wheel, hot dog stand and train tracks, where's the roller coaster? 3 Quote
jaisonline Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Not bad. Now we just need an Exclusive / Expert version Quote
jerryherb Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 is it just me, or does it look like a 5-year old designed this? 3 Quote

Huskers1236 Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 My daughter will love this. She plays with her brother's Jokerland all the time. Quote
fossilrock Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Wake me up when Lego makes a brick replica like this: Quote
chipbee Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Strange that people are expecting so much advance feature out of Friends series. They are targeted at pre-puberty girls For advanced roller coaster, I think better to pester the Technic design team instead. After the largest technic set ever in H2 2016, LEGO is more or less out of fresh ideas. Technic roller coaster series could be a good possibility to keep the fans happy. 1 Quote

I'm not going to buy friends sets, so while I like the concept, until they push it off into another dimension or theme, I can wait them out until they come up with something that's much more afol/16+ oriented. Brian Briggs Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 In my opinion, the color scheme of this set doesn't look good at all. Maybe it's a lack of neutral colors. Heartlake Grand Hotel is so much better in this regard. Quote
