All the stuff I have received from SAH at 50% has been old codes so I assume they are returns. This set was supposed to have had a 6 month life but it´s clear it is going to drag out to 9 or so and that won´t make it as attractive a proposition as the sets that went quicker, at least in Europe.

Looks like you made the wise choice with IST rather than this! 75140 looks to be hanging around far too long aswell.

IST was clearanced at 49 here too, same as 75103 and until the quick flippers have sold theirs there won´t be money in any of these sets.

I expect performance will be similar to that of Mos Eisley rather than AT AT or IST and that the winning 2016 SW sets will be the ones no one is talking about.

Iconic Star Wars ships still available after being 50% off for a while ain't a very good sign. However, I still like the set and will order one to build. Could this be another sign of mass over-production?

Seems there were lots of production runs at the middle of last year but perhaps initial sales were not good and they decided to pull the plug there and then.

The 100-110 euro price point was definitely not great bang per buck and that may repeat itself with the new Phantom.

If it was a best seller, why would they have pulled it so soon - to make way for the new A wing?

might be over produced, but I think Lego has a new habit of selling at over-inflated price initially and then very soon after dropping it to the "real" retail.

not sure how widely this was practiced in the past, but the friends air balloon was on of the first sets to do this recently in that it was $29.99 for a few months and then $19.99 for the duration of it's run. The encounter on Jakku has been marked down almost since it was released and at $59.99 really is too much for a set that size

Seems they have been testing out higher price points with a few sets in each theme. The City petrol station price is similarly inflated.

Now you can even get a 30446 polybag when buying from the 50% discount list, when you buy at least €30 worth. Not bad!

I gave away a bunch of these to my local school months ago. It's an old promo that they're trying to get rid of. Not bad, but won't sell on its own.

Agree, I would put this on the same "shelf of fame" with 30472.

I hate myself, but I'm so tempted to buy a few more of these at LEGO Shop at Home, 50% off, 2 Batman polybags worth €20 cash and a few quid in VIP points. Just shows just how stupid some of the RRP's are at the moment.

Not sure which of the Star Wars sets RRP is the worst, this, Clone Turbo Tank, Phantom, Resistance X-Wing, At-St, Tie Striker, Minor Skirmish on Hoth, Battle on Scarriff, A-Wing, Resistance Troop Transport, Rebel Combat Frigate, Battle on Takodana, Encounter on Jakku, Imperial Assault Hovertank.

Wait a second, just realised what I'm doing wrong there, lets list the sets which aren't stupidly priced. The Y-Wing. That is all.

I've only bought the one for my collection, it'll be too hoarded to sell in this lifetime.

I'm always amazed at how I can predict your reply, or Val-E, on any topic, without even having to read it. We get it, everything is a terrible investment. Your blanket statements always apply to everyone in every geography, no matter their buy in. Yada yada yada. Neither of you seem to get any enjoyment out of this site, I don't know why you post so much in every thread.

Carry on...

It gets worse, I'm now really tempted to buy the Nexo Knight King's Mech, get this, because I think it looks cool.

Seriously, I had intended to spend the square root of feck all in the first few months of the year and instead I go crazy on the LEGO Shop at Home sale. Lucky no one else has any decent deals at the moment.

I bought so much there also because of the additional extras. :)

There's nothing like a good promo or two to drag you in, especially when they have 50% off too.

God knows what I'm going to be buying off them when they do the VW Beetle promo in April.

I was going to stay away from the 75150 set, apart from the 1 set I had bought earlier for myself at even better than 50% off. But I just couldn't resist getting one to score both Batman promos.

I'm such a sucker for promos and freebies that I can sell off to reduce my buy-in of the main set I purchased. :D

I'm already lining up potential purchases for the mini VW Beetle promo in April, heh heh! ;)

Think it's going to be a little trickier judging which sets to pick up this time. Last year was easier because there were some nice Ideas sets in the €50 range, top them up with a small seasonal set to get the free shipping and promo and you were laughing. Or maybe something like Indominus Rex which wasn't being discounted much elsewhere, promo and double VIP was bringing that down nicely. But this year not so sure.
