The time for PS hasn't come multiple times.  Grand Emporium Sold OUt in October last year.  Fire Brigade went in December the year before.  October-December is modular retirement season.  We're in the thick of it.

Some would say the time for this set's eol was last October-December but the horde just made it so darn profitable for TLG that they retired something else instead. Maybe they will do it again since people can't just not wipe every one they see out in minutes

I'm not sure why people would say this. What signs were there that this was headed for retirement last year? When did this first hit "call to check" or "sold out" on LEGO Shop at Home? I can't remember.

Lego speculators/investors are a mixed bunch, definitely some are a bit more wound up and would speculate a set retirement from the the very day of launch of the set.

There were 2 signs - discounted during EU shop black Friday campaign (along with EEE, HE, SC, AA and we know what happened to them) and prolonged sold out status in early 2015 at US shop.

I think that this set was being earmarked for early retirement like Bwing but won a reprieve due to strong sales in late 2014 early 2015.

Anyway, it would appear to be done now so better to move on to other things.

Like i said already, the treatment of this set when buying it at the legi lille shop was seperate. I suspect the last ones are being distributed.

It was the next set in line. It had been out substantially longer than TH. They had never retired a modular out of order before. Until the horde got a hold of PS and made it too profitable to retire. Not sure why people can't see this.

Huh?  Red Five came out in 2013, Town Hall came out in 2012.

On PS, why do you think that it was going to retire before now or that it won't retire in the next month or two?  I realize that it was not available for most of the year, but the fact that it went from being basically unavailable to fairly widely available doesn't necessarily indicate a change in the timing of retirement.  A far more reasonable explanation in my mind is that TLG did not finalize the designs or product lineup for the new TFA sets until later in their production cycle than normal and had to devote a substantial amount of their manufacturing capacity throughout the year to producing those sets, which prevented them from manufacturing other sets, which created the appearance of impending retirement for sets like PS and, to a lesser extent, PC.

I wasn't talking about red 5.

On PS, go read the PS thread

This is one set that could do a lot better than people expect. Even the non-UCS 9394 has hiked in value post EOL. I let a 9394 go to one of you lot for RRP! I have 8 of these and will definitely be keeping at least 1. I think EP7 will raise enough interest to kill this one off.

You mean 9493, and thanks I appreciated the profit :)

No problem, you did me a favour. I soon filled up the space with bike bits!
