No! Both double VIP and minifig end next Saturday and the train goes through to 20th Nov or while stocks last.

I guess the next week will help red 5 to its grave.

I may have been confused with the Lego Star Wars Episode III poster which got included with qualifying purchases, and which is already 'sold out'.

And now I need to find someone willing to buy said poster from me. :derisive:

The polybag promo is the Stormtrooper Sergeant, free for qualifying Star Wars orders.

Is anything special about that minifig but for the eh... extra piece... (for lack of better vocabulary ;-) ).

I ordered (and payed too much for) the first order snow speeder! but having double VIP and double promo I couldn't let it go.

But one Sergeant is enough for me. Don't think this will be a highly popular polybag. 10-20€ maybe. Don't know yet if I should sell it or keep it for my own collection ^.^

so?

The latter. I wouldn't dare predict emminent EOL of 10240

As for its exact retirement date, hard to tell indeed. But the set is making progress towards its end of production.

Step 1: start of a new set. Max order 1 unit

step 2: interest wanes from fans. Sets available in multiples online and in B&M stores

step 3: set isn't visible in b&m for a while. In the end it gets a new large production run. The last one. Or not. (T1 Camper)

Step 4: TLG continues to produce smaller quantities for its own distribution network. Online and the lego stores.

Step 5: set goes Oos regularly. (DS)

Step 6: horde goes crazy as it predict retirement. TLG starts a new production run. Stockpiles increase. Market gets flooded for very popular sets. (Red five)

Step 7: one more production doesn t get absorbed rapidly. After another oos the secondary market only marks up the set 20%. Tlg decides to pull the plug. (Pet shop)

The only way to accelerate this process based on sales and set popularity, is product renewal rate, licenced theme, product glitches, retirement of mold, better building techniques.

Glad to read your improvements to this step by step process.

DAMNIT... I knew I was doing something wrong...

SAH limit for NL / Europe is still 2

Considering the ridiculous Dutch MSRP (compared to the much friendlier German MSRP) it's easier to get them for a nice discounted price (related to Dutch MSRP, heh heh). :derisive:

Silly me ... I bought one R5 in the Dutch LEGO Shop at Home for MSRP last September. FaceDesk. Luckily I was able to get a second Red5 (MISB) from eBay (Germany) for a much better price.
