i hope so too..but are you sure this is first 'sold out' sign for R5 (in US region) though? i seem to recall it popping in and out before but I may be wrong

Perhaps not the first nor the last but it is the right time for it to go. It may come back a few times too and in Europe there is still stock but by the end of holiday train promo it should be done.

Next to watch out for is PS.

Speaking of holiday promo, are we getting any of them over this side of the pond? Haven't seen a single mention of them for Europe?

Good point, the newsletter only mentios double points so looks like we are being dicked over yet again.

I vaguely remember it being a similar situation in Australia last year, with no mention of the Christmas sets before they miraculously appeared on the LEGO Shop at Home Front page.

The sales of exclusives has been low in Europe this month till now because we're getting the 2x VIP promo in the 2nd half of this month. I, and I assume many others, have been patiently waiting for the double VIP promo to start to plan our buys. :P

I expect the sales of especially the 'hard to find' exclusives to dramatically pick up while the 2x VIP promo is active from 14th October till 31st of October.

Isn´t it just? Apparently Paypal invented it to describe the seller protection policy in the plain english version.

Could someone with a European MISB R5 provide a set weight for this?  Ideally in pounds/ounces, but I can always do the conversion from metric.  I bought some of these from amazon.co.uk (not third party) once upon a time and have noticed that, while the boxes and seals are pristine, all come in at a few ounces under my US sets.  I don't suspect tampering, but am wondering what accounts for the difference (and whether there should be a difference).  Thanks!

Thanks.  That's actually a bit lighter than what I have.  Still curious as to what's missing in the Euro version.  Basically, my UK sets are 5 pounds even, while my US sets are 5 pounds, 2.5 ounces.  I hope this just means Americans get an extra catalog or something.

This has been backordered, available now, and is now sold out (in North America) all in the same day today.

Let's see if it stays "sold out" for more than 24 hours.  The last 2 times, it was available to order within 12 hours it seemed, then it became available again within a few days.  At this point, anytime it gets that status it seems meaningless.  Almost would rather see it hit "temporary out of stock", as my guess is the dane that puts these tags on has misinterpreted the english language and thinks sold out means temporarily out of stock, and temporarily out of stock means sold out.  Either way...
