Bought 5 extra today, minty mint. Overpriced sets are always less hoarded, think it will pay-out as long and even short-term investment. Payed 180 euro for each, while it retails for 230 here in Holland. Lucky me

On a more serious note, does anyone still think that this (the UCS one) will be put to sleep before the new films? I am not an expert in the Star Wars lore - are the X-wing supposed to be the same model used after the events of the original trilogy as during?

I don't know.  I actually expect it to stick around through Christmas, after the release of Episode 7.  The next X-Wing model is different from this one, so this might be the last chance to get the "classic" design for a while.

Another thing I learned today: staircases in Holland are crazy dangerous looking.  Complete with booby-trap-cord at the bottom, on the off chance that you DO survive the descent.

Well... at least he placed the X-wings strategically so if you fall down from the stairs they will not break your fall.

Looks like an egyptian pyramid trap.

The Lego is stored at the attic, this stair prevents theft.. Or even better, will break the neck of an actual thief trying to steal my Lego's. See it as a sort of safety measure ;-)

Well... I guess you are home alone and your real name is Kevin?

Ty mr quacs.  The new ones are a different color, blue, and special forces are orange/black.  So hard to say but red five is NOT episode 7.

Galeria kaufhof Germany, bougt them online, but there is still stock in the stores.

Going next thursday to the physical store, to buy 5 more. They retail for 200 in Germany, but I got a 10% discount.. Can pick them up for 180. Thank you Germany.. Always better than those stupid Dutch prices (230 euro). Same thing with temple of airjitzu.. 200 in Germany, 230 in Holland.

Update: it's back to 'out of stock' from 'sold out' in US

Good eye!

Thanks, but I got my own system.. Scanning  the LEGO Shop at Home websiye each 5 minutes on stock status changes for each important set. Get a notification by mail immediately :-)

You cannot go wrong with a Red Five. Here is my opinion on the box... With everyone and their brother putting these things away for future sale you have to know that most of them will be in almost perfect condition. Just calculate that into your considerations if you plan to keep it for later sale. As a collector box condition is not a huge issue on the older sets as nobody really put them away, your lucky to even get a box. But when I buy a modern set I go out of the way to keep the box clean because I know there are going to be a ton of MISB items out there...
