It is a very nice set. Have been tempted to grab one for myself, but might hold out for a decent sale.

That's what I would do too. I just happened to have $55 in VIP points So it ended up costing a lot less. Plus some gift cards!

Don't think you'll be seeing the X-Wing go on sale on Lego.com, ever. OK, maybe 10% when it's about to die. Our only hope is that it goes out to the Walmarts and Amazons of the world and we see some decent discounts on it. I'm going to buy one to build regardless, but as for investments, going to wait on it for a while.

Well the B-wing is at Walmart so perhaps the X-wing will follow in a few months. If it does I expect sale prices as well as my own extra 10% off.....so we may see the $150 price point.

I guess it's cool, but to me it falls into the rehash category, so that's a notch down from an actual all-new set. I just think they could have done something better for a UCS ship instead of another retread. Where's the UCS Tie Fighter for the past 15 years, Lego, hmmmmmm? Thank you!

I honestly do not get why Lego still has not done the regular TIE Fighter as a UCS style set. Yes, the X-Wing is iconic but so is the Empire standard TIE Fighter darn it! :ireful:

The 10240 Red Five X-Wing Fighter, in my opinion, is a amazing set. What do you think? Is it a cool set? Is it fun to build? What is your favorite aspect of this set? Is it a great investment?

I take it you already purchased the set? Well, if you plan on getting another for investment later on then build the one you have. I am certain it will be a good investment only you would be sitting on it for a while now as in a few years perhaps.
