This Australian website says they are getting more Red 5 X-wings in,  in June 2015. You could email them to see if it is true. That would mean probably not discontinued yet. They also say they are getting more PS and PC in at the end of the year.

Dunno how reputable/reliable the site is when:
Pieces: 211
Ages: 8-14
Released: August 2013

Question:
What is the difference between the older X-Wing 7191 & The Red Five X-Wing 10240?

Are these the same Fighter Planes?

Same ship.  The 10240 is slightly larger with more detailed engines.  The 7191 has a classic box.  Both great builds and fun sets.  Great for display and play.

And if it happened once, it can happen again.

just chaos....

and I would expect a remake of the MF, DS maybe (more display style like the old or play like the new?), but the others are not likely anytime soon if ever.  X-wing and MF are the two iconic ships that did not have a lot of variations available, so remakes are not surprising.

I thought Lego has stated in interviews and stuff that they only do a "remake" if the new version improves or adds to the existing one. So we've had a remade X-Wing and Sandcrawler. I bet they "remake" all of the UCS sets. Wouldn't bother me as i missed most of them the first time around.

Since I ordered the Red Five a few days ago off Lego.com, will they definitely fulfill that?  I know that it said out of stock for 30 days or something, but my email seemed to indicate that I would eventually get it.  If that is so, why would people be paying $300+ for the set already?

I think there will way too many new STAR WARS vehicles and characters to waste time on older UCS remakes.

Your order is not guarantee but the $300+ is guarantee

Well, nothing is "definite" until it says "shipped"... (though "in warehouse" is 99% also)... but I think they will ship eventually.  ... so anyway... where are people paying $300+ for them? ... I might have 1 or 2 I could part with.
