If you can sell TH in Idaho for $5-600 cash then I would sell it and reinvest because that matches your plan of attack.

I am content to hold and hold and hold and watch it go up and still hold, just because I can(and because I don't have many) :)

Idaho offline sales are all over the place. I have done well w CL and FB (no fee land) and couldn't move hot stuff at the same time

From today going forward, the Red5 will outperform (percentage) the TH. The initial bump it too much to ignore. By that I mean the TH has already benefited from the bump, and the growth will be gradual frome here on out. Inversely the Red5 should get a 50% bump in the next months then enjoy gradual growth similar to the TH.

Or not.

I do resonate with the thought that you would rather own a set that has already retired. However, I would rather own a set that is about to retire. The Red5 is about to make its last Kessel Run. Then the bump.

Regardless, I do have my doubts that this christmas will be a "bountiful year" for red 5 resellers.  I just have a feeling the market will be flooded with them.

You know some people thought the same thing about GE because it did the dance for so long on Shop at Home, Walmart, TRU, and Amazon yet here it is doing just fine despite many opportunities for resellers to stock up in great numbers.  If LEGO is automatically enforcing the limit of 2 on this one and cancelling orders over that amount then it could take a while longer to sell through.  There is still 8 months before the new movie comes out and I think if it sells out any time before then it will do just fine.  If it doesn't last until the new UCS TIE Figther comes out in May then look out!

If you search for "Star Wars new movie" on Google, it would give you more information than any of us can possibly give :)

I thought they were making The LEGO Movie 2. Got me all excited.

I would suggest going back and read the content of this thread from around December 2014 forward.  It would help ease you into the flow of the conversation (as in reference, acronyms, dates, etc)

Please tell me this is a joke. If not please leave this forum and never come back.  :cheese:

Several co-workers of mine have no idea there's a new Star Wars movie in the queue. Strange but true--especially because I work in public education.

I think JJ wants to keep things under wraps as much as possible until closer to the release date.  It's a little early for the hype machine to start kicking in from Disney.  I think by Fall many more people will be aware of the movie.

They hype machine will be kicked-in full force in 3 weeks.  I would expect a new trailer or at least a teaser by then.

Normally in a thread about Star Wars LEGO sets people will discuss Star Wars topics.

As for the The LEGO Movie 2, it was announced quite a while back that LEGO would indeed be making a follow up but it would not be out until 2017 (and I've seen 2018 referenced) because other LEGO "movies" are already in the pipeline and it takes a fairly long time to animate the entire thing the way they did for the original.

PS Google is your friend, and it won't be called The LEGO Movie 2.

The star wars hype is in everything. I recently started dabbling in Arcade Machines - Star wars machines have really risen in price over the last year or two. Its crazy.

As for the Xwing, I think this one could stick around for a while with the new movies without another Xwing around.

It would be nice if it retired though, because those of us with stacks of 9493 have a pretty obvious ceiling on where the set can go. But at the same time, you have to imagine another remake it literally right around the corner.

I'm not too concerned with massive hoarding on this one.  I think the demand will outweigh the supply.  What I struggle with is continuing to buy more knowing that EOL is upon us or do I shift my focus to other exclusives that could also retire soon.  These are tough decisions for a LEGO investor.

Have you hit your target goal yet? If you've hit your goal, move on to the next exclusive. Fairgrounds Mixer?

I currently have two and would love to get at least three or four more. I'm small time compared to a lot of you here.

Pun intended? ;)

That is a horrible site. Maybe a few gratuitous lens flares instead of those annoying fly-open-thingies would help.

Well, yeah, you caught that.  That site is definitely terrible and almost discourages you from buying tickets.  The con is worth it though.

Anaheim is just pretty far for me... I was going to take the kids to the local comic con convention this year but schedules didn't permit. Some local TF fans started an enercon last summer and have already advertised this year's but I'm worried it will just end up costing more money if they really get into Star Wars. Currently they just like playing with "my" Star Wars sets and minifigures. :)
