People, bottom line, meet your quota and move on.

If it's one and you don't have one yet, then get on it.

If it's more then one then ramp up your efforts and go get em now!

If you're an F5 kind of person and like the challenge, then rest those fingers up and oil that F5 key cause there's gonna be action soon.

This set isn't even in the dance phase. It only looks that way because people won't stop scooping them all up as soon as they appear anywhere. I hope everyone has a lot of funds ready because if you want to keep making it look this you're going to need to be buying for a while.

I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express, but, in my opinion, the people who keep prognosticating that every set is about to retire because they're cross-referencing the seal codes, online and physical store status for every retailer, make believe license lengths, how a certain set must stay or go based on an upcoming movie release or not, mixed with a little gut feeling, are making every large set appear to be done. It only creates more problems and fulfills their prophecies in their minds because stock keeps remaining low. No retailer can keep anything in stock because so many believe that all these sets are going because some random person on the Internet wants to be the first person to call their retirement shot. Sorry that I'm not sharing the same opinion that everything is going away as soon as this production run is done. Or is it the next production run and then it's gone?

I base my EOL case on Lego CSR's who have explicitly said that the set is going EOL. That is all.

yes...ok... thanks for the obscure reference. It puts me on edge though, thinking that this could actually be the truth - that the market is more flooded than we think and that we're all really in the dark as to production depth.

I wouldn't have any doubts that this set is more horded than any other exclusive on the market today.  It's one of the reasons why I am somewhat resisting infesting in more than 1 of these, and that one is strictly for my personal collection.

Referring you to Ed's list and the VW Camper Van.

Interesting.  Thanks!  Considering this thread is 62 pages deep, I would have guessed it would have been a "top 5er" and heavily invested in.

Regardless, I do have my doubts that this christmas will be a "bountiful year" for red 5 resellers.  I just have a feeling the market will be flooded with them.

Does TH gain 75% more or red 5 gain 75% first

Considering listing 2 TH for $600 each and getting red 5s and ToO w then proceeds (yes it hadn't hit $600 yet but it's knocking on the door)

I would rather have 3 R5s than 1 TH.

I would rather have the set that is already retired, under-hoarded and in high demand than one that is in production, showing signs of being a poor seller, and that the horde is gobbling up left and right.

The more salient question is going to be... So where are you going to find the R5s to buy?

Aah, good old no fee land. Where business is easy and profits are ample.

This week it has been available at LEGO Shop at Home, WM, AMZ and tons of BM lego stores. This hasn't necessarily dried up just yet

If you can sell TH in Idaho for $5-600 cash then I would sell it and reinvest because that matches your plan of attack.

I am content to hold and hold and hold and watch it go up and still hold, just because I can(and because I don't have many) :)

Two TH actually weighs almost as much as four R5.  I think the Slave 1 (more pieces, more minifigs, same price) is a tacit admission by Lego that 10240 is overpriced by $50.  That said, if I could trade one of my TH for three R5, I would do it.  Perhaps I should just call Lego and propose the swap?
