Money yes, but not always the fastest money... I remember hanging on to the Vader Tie, General Greivous and At-St for quite a while  before they were worth selling

And now that the UCS TIE is coming, I'm kicking myself for not picking up the UCS Vader TIE when the prices were pretty stagnant after retirement. I'm also upset about passing on the UCS AT-ST as well. I figured I had plenty of time since prices were low for so long. I will never make that mistake again for any UCS Star Wars set.

Announcement today about the name of the first Star Wars spin-off movie for 2016.  The title is Rogue One:

http://www.starwars.com/news/rogue-one-is-the-first-star-wars-stand-alone-film-rian-johnson-to-write-and-direct-star-wars-episode-viii

Presumably, the movie will deal with Rogue Squadron during the OT and one might assume there will be traditional X-Wings in it.

I don't think it was that popular of a set before investors started buying them up over the last few months.  The set does hint at retirement, though, which is often enough to increase EOL demand.

Initially, I wasn't a fan of the set as it seemed a bit overpriced and I think many others believe the same.  Although, after building the set it is a very nice display piece, but doesn't compare to the Slave I that goes for the same price.

.

Assumed it was investors buying at presumed eol. Glad to hear good build. Planning on building one soon. Ended up with more than planned since lego shipped 2 out from January order. If I return those it's sure to be eol with great returns. If I keep the opposite. :)

From your link: "The film, which continues the saga after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is set for release on May 26, 2017"

So i is not during OT

EDit:

Oh nm, that's talking about EP VIII.

Yeah Red Five might just be as important as the B Wing (sorry B Wing fans)

This movie is not about Red Five directly we can assume but it is relevant none the less.

Red Five a good ship to have in your inventory

From Wookieepedia

Rogue Leader, or Rogue One, was a title and callsign given to the commander of the elite Rebel Alliance/New Republic/Galactic Alliance starfighter group, Rogue Squadron

Any reason you only got one per store? Was there a limit?

What is bms? Bowel movements?

Probably tried to "stay under the radar".

bms = B&Ms = brick and mortar stores. Usually people don't mean physical stores in general by that but rather LEGO stores, to distinguish it from LEGO Shop at Home.

This all brings up an important and unresolved question: just what % of exclusive/UCS sets are bought by us, the reseller scourge?  How much of this latest (last?!?) batch of Red 5 is going to us?  I'd love to get a look at TLGs internal sales records for all sorts of sets.  And no, I don't think Joe-Schmoe Lego Shop employee has access to these on their point-of-sale terminal.
