Hey... so if I maxed out how many I can buy online, do they track that for my in-store purchases? Like, could I go to the Lego store and buy more of them?

LEGO only enforces that limit per purchase online... you could buy the max 5 of something in one purchase and immediately make another purchase of 5. You do however risk having your purchase history flagged for review. In store, unless there is a "limit" sign on the shelf price tag they may let you walk out with 20 or they might not.
Again though, if you purchase all with the same credit/debit card and/or VIP account you'd be a fool to think LEGO can't and won't connect the dots between your purchases.... that said, some flout the rules and have never been caught. Others have purchased very little and been banned. It's all YMMV and purchase at your own risk!

Not sure where to ask this (so 10240 thread gets the question!).

Assuming this does retire early 2016 how well do you think it will do compared with the UCS b-wing?  Thinking of taking a punt on buying a 10240 (at retail) with the intention of trading for a 10227 once the 10240 QFLL stock starts to dry up.  Or am just chasing the rainbow?

I would think it will pass by 10227 quite easily.

I think it's already done in the US, and whatever is left over in the EU is it.  Once it goes out there, it gets the retirement tag.  While there maybe a few here and there in the B&M stores, it's probably not a lot of stock to last into february.  I'd suspect we see a lot of retirement tags around that time, and this will be one of them.
