Hope I will learn lots about collecting Lego from here.  I just bought a few sets for my kids and myself yesterday.
I wish they had NFL Lego set with my favorite players.

Welcome! I've seen some NFL lego-type figures that are sold in blind boxes at Target and other stores.

PS, before you buy anything for investment, READ.

when you think you're ready to really drop some money, stop and READ some more.

Finally once you know you're ready,,,,you get the picture. Good luck to you!

If i were new to this joint, i would read the first few pages of the Death Star thread. Note that we were sure it was dissappearing back in 2013, then again in 2014, then again in June of 2015,,,,,and now we actually think it's leaving us.

Then use the affiliate link and buy one on amazon.

Then see that they re-release it early next year.

Only then will you truly be part of us :)

Sure thing.

Seriously though this one thread will teach you about the 'sure thing' the Death Star was, vs the never ending investment it became.

The cost of storing a HUGE box.

The difficulty and cost of shipping it

The fact that you have to be comfortable not selling something for 7 years if it stays in production.

It's a great thread, enjoy the thrills of when Death Star went out of stock (DOES THIS MEAN THE END?) to when it comes back everywhere (LEGO IS JUST DOING THIS TO HURT THE RESELLER) to when folks realized maybe it's not about us (This thing has brand new seal codes every few weeks in store (seal codes show when the item was packed up and sent to warehouse)).

Lots to enjoy in this one. Good luck to you.

And yes, if you can afford to, i'd advise picking one up.

If you're a star wars fan, i'd say pick up an extra so you can build it yourself. it's EPIC.

ty wow so many pages lol...i'll see what i can do but for an item being in product for that many years not sure if it'd be a good investment. what you think? plus a new ds coming out? confusing...

Those are definitely good points against it.

The counters to that are

1) we don't really know what the 'new DS' is going to be. If it's actually the Star Killer Base then the old DS is gold

2) the fact it was in production so long also says quite a bit for its demand. If demand was there for the 7 years there were no star wars movies, imagine what it might be if they're not making any more and there ARE star wars movies for the next 7 years.

The fun of this game is you get to place your bets and see what happens.

At the end of the day, that set will ALWAYS be worth what you paid for it, and then some. It's hard to lose much, if anything with a quality set.
