I saw roughly 15 of these on Tuesday. I was in the store tonight and bought one, you know, because I like having one of everything.
Huskers1236
Yeah, saw a pile of these in store yesterday. Funny how they were not in stock during the promotion but show up later for Target to sell. Seems deceptive to me for the store to run a promotion when the promo item isn't even in stock but then sell them later.
Alpinemaps
Isn't that what happened last year, though?
Grynn
I got about 4 free easily last year, saw dozens more, but never saw a single one this year. Stock tracker showed 24 of them in about 5 out of of 30 stores last week but the 2 I checked seemed not to actually have them. Something went screwy around here, I gotta say. Being a promotional item, they (including TRU) probably get a much cheaper buy-in price when it's a promo. If at all...
legoray01
I bought four today. They are in two of my local targets. Doesn't seem like a bad buy in at $10 a piece.

I got some during the promotion and some after the promotion ended since there were so many. Target told people this year they were gone and no more would show up. Lo and behold, they have now shown up with a price tag after not having them in stock for the promotion. They could have at least done a solid and given a raincheck if they came in stock at some point. Like I said earlier, folks in store were pissed that right at the beginning of the promotion they were told there was no freebie even though the whole aisle was plastered with signs for the promo. I personally don't care, don't even know who the hell Lightning Lad is, just think it's bad P R.
thoroakenfelder
I haven't seen one around here.

In my area, they've been on an endcap several aisles away from the LEGO aisle, typically with the pegs of Xmas Tree or Joker Bumper Car polybags. The boxes are small enough and I usually only see 5 or so lined up so they're easy to miss (or not out at all). I had to ask and they pulled out a box of them from the back. If you haven't already, be sure to check the Inventory Tracker: http://www.brickpicker.com/target-inventory/index.cfm 204-00-1716 I know the tracker & DCPI have already been mentioned several times and in OP, just posted for quick access.
legogregors
GULP...96 and 71 available at my local stores. Who is Lighting Lad again:) Oh of course: "Lightning Lad (Garth Ranzz), also known as Live Wire, is a fictional comic book superhero appearing in books published by DC Comics, usually those featuring the Legion of Superheroes, a 30th and 31st century group of which he is a founding member. He has the superhuman ability to generate electricity, usually in the form of lightning bolts. Created by writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino, he first appeared in Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958) under his original codename Lightning Boy."
