gremmie7 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I got a haunted house 10228 on amazon today for $139.95, last one. He listed another for $145. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007455OI2/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 Quote

Legodog Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Awesome thanks guys. Anyone have any recommendations on what to get? Quote
StarCityBrickCompany Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I know that many people hate the buying limits - But I feel very thankful for them on days like this. Quote
cflannagan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Thats not the Haunted House, that is the Vampyre Castle and you can get it for $99 Aha!. I PM'd him earlier based on his other post, asking how he got Haunted House for $139.95 LOL. Turns out it was Vampyre Castle... Quote
cflannagan Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I asked in another thread - should I pull the trigger on 5% (more like 7.8% off due to Amazon rewards) on SSD (10221)? I can't tell whether this one is going to EOL soon or not. Not right now obviously, but it's a 2011 set, so I think it's days are kinda numbered? Think we'll see another sale , more than 5% off? Quote
Teeird Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Awesome thanks guys. Anyone have any recommendations on what to get? The 42% on the 21009 looks quite attractive, it's shame I spent $36 on two 9496s. I'm all capped out for the week. Quote

Wait...so you paid $139 for a $99 set? ask him to return it! waste of $40! Quote

This is a tough one. There is always a chance you might see this set drop again to the $309/$319/$329 range that we have seen the drop before. Then again, this may be the lowest it may go again. That's always the gamble. Quote
Ed Mack Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Buy Friends sets. Great deals. Great returns. That is all! Quote
exciter1 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I have no interest in Friends sets, so I'm sticking to the rule. Don't buy stuff you have no interest in. Quote
jaisonline Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Thanks so much for this post. My wife ordered me a 10221 SSD back on Dec. 10th. i opened it on xmas but we returned it since the box arrived heavily damaged. No replacements were available at that time (zero stock) so a refund was given. I just called amazon and they agreed to honor that original order for $319.97. Quote
comicblast Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I have no interest in Friends sets, so I'm sticking to the rule. Don't buy stuff you have no interest in. Same. But I don't buy Friends sets because they do not have as large an audience as for example, Ninjago. Little girls don't play withe Legos as much as boys. Quote
legopocalypse Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I agree. plus, if the lego market does drop the last thing i want to be stuck with is playing with "Friends" sets...lol Quote
Ed Mack Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I have no interest in Friends sets, so I'm sticking to the rule. Don't buy stuff you have no interest in.I made that rule. I'll make an exception for an exceptional deal. Quote
jaisonline Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I made that rule. I'll make an exception for an exceptional deal. Parents do need non-doll toys for girls. Every time I'm in Target, there's always a parent buying Friends. On a side note, I saw MANY Monster-themed dolls during my last visit at Target. Maybe Lego should think about creating "Monster Friends" - ha Quote
Teeird Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 I made that rule. I'll make an exception for an exceptional deal. Which one are you refering to? The 3183? Is it that good? Quote
davelin Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Same. But I don't buy Friends sets because they do not have as large an audience as for example, Ninjago. Little girls don't play withe Legos as much as boys. I think a lot of investors are staying away for the above reason. Which means there will probably not be enough of them to satisfy demand later... Little girls don't play withe Legos as much as boys. I think a lot of investors are staying away for the above reason. Which means there will probably not be enough of them to satisfy demand later...Which means higher prices for people that do have the Friends sets to resell. I can understand that people don't want to invest in sets that they don't have interest in, but for those people who want to think of LEGO sets as more of a commodity and don't really care about anything but making money, The Friends theme is the way to go. At these discounts, they are no brainers. Quote
eracine Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 my daughter loves lego friends. I think this is going to be a winner down the road. I have to admit it is hard to research them. My daughter laughs at me and says " are you looking at those purple boxes dad" Quote
