dcdfan Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Well... there is still alot of fog hanging around this set. Not unimportant is the question if it will contain an ecto-1 or not. We've heard it will not... Quote
Locutus001 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 We've heard it will not...Emazers said so... so it won't! Quote
emazers Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Like I said before the Ghostbusters Headquarters does not come with a Excto-1 Quote
Ciglione Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) Like I said before the Ghostbusters Headquarters does not come with a Excto-1Next question... do you think Excto-1 will retire soon? Edited October 25, 2015 by Ciglione Quote
dcdfan Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Emazers said so... so it won't! Based on the description that appeared on TRU Canada, it did not mention an Ecto-1... Quote
Val-E Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 More people have said no than yes. As to whether it retires, soon we have to define soon as earlier than later. I think it will be around for this Xmas and possibly till the launch of this set if it is Q1 16 but not much longer - same as RI and Delorean last year. Quote
trekgate502 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Next question when will this hq retire ? 3 Quote
emazers Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 The Big question is should you load up on the 21108 Ecto 1, or will Lego keep the 21108 running for a few more years, Logic for Lego would be to keep the 21108 alive for a few more yrs. Quote

dcdfan Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Which, that means it's retiring soon.Surely Lego won't retire Ecto-1 before this is released...orSurely, Lego won't retire Ecto-1 before the new movie...Take your pick... 3 Quote
Locutus001 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Surely LEGO will retire Ecto-1 someday. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Surely LEGO will retire Ecto-1 someday. And yet we keep saying that about the Death Star... Quote
Locutus001 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 And yet we keep saying that about the Death Star...Yeah but Ecto-1 is called "Ecto-1" and not "Death Ecto-1" :-P 1 Quote
ED-209 Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 The problem is that sets like the Delorean have created a precedent belief that Ideas sets retire within 2 years.Personally I don't see any connection between this and the Death Star. DS is very expensive and due to this fact has a propensity to be generally less hoarded. Ecto is cheap and massively hoarded, and if it sticks around for another few years may not be the winner many people think it'll be post eol. I myself have a few stored away and I find this HQ news kind of depressing. At least I bought all of mine below retail (or with free points vouchers) so I can flip some to free up more capital in the event it lingers for ages. If the Canadian TRU description is correct, then there is no Ecto one in the HQ. It makes little sense to retire the Ecto in this case. It's no secret that the Ecto is one of the most popular Lego sets ever and it looks like they might have plans to milk the GB franchise.... and milk it hard. Quote

zskid00 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Looks like printed arms on all and slimed deco on Venkman. This looks pretty good. Not sure about investment but I will have one for my collection no doubt. Quote
Huskers1236 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 No way that's $350. There must be one hell of an interior if so, and where's my Keymaster? Quote
jbacunn Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Anybody think the Ecto-1 will fit in there? Looks like it might. 2 Quote
supergman Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 This with the Dimensions pack that includes Slimer/Staypuffed would be great. But yeah, 350? That seems excessive from the looks of it. Quote

mfortunek Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) I'll bet it ends up being very cool, and I'm not one to complain really, but my only thought is whether they could have used a slightly different red brick color so that it didn't look exactly like the FB. If they are asking $350 for this set (which is what it sounds like), couldn't we have gotten a rare new color brick? Something to really elevate the value of this set? More of a burnt orange color like the previous photos that were floating around online. That would really soften the price tag for buyers, in my opinion. Edited October 27, 2015 by mfortunek Quote
