inversion Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) I think part of it is trying to force sets into particular price points, and it is a licensed theme, so definitely some restraints. That's the same disease LotR suffered from. There are some themes just not fit for small scenes. Edited February 2, 2015 by inversion Quote
Neosphinx Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Good choice. Large global penetration rate for these sets. Sets are ok but too many stickers for my taste. Will look good next to my HH. Quote
biniou Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 When are these being released? September. Oh wait, about one/two months before October 31st. How surprising. Quote
biking_tiger Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I'm definitely digging the minifigs, but I have a special place in my heart for all monsters. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 The sets may be small but the content and character is there. The 'monsters' will make nice additions to any Halloween or costume party scene aside from just being cool as is. The Headless Horseman is an immediate no questions asked must have purchase for me. I'm sure his head also has other uses like decoration. I just hope with so many Shaggies each has a different expression. That would be perfect for animation. I'm definitely digging the minifigs, but I have a special place in my heart for all monsters. Me too. Quote
Cross Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 As an investor I have to thank TLG for another avenue to introduce AFOL's to the product-line as a whole. As a fan... Man, they are nailing it. As an eighties kid, Scooby Doo basically defined after school and Saturday mornings. My current son- 3-years old- loves the show. Incredible how well TLG is reaching out to so many different generations and demographics. 1 Quote
exciter1 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 My wallet is not happy that these sets are looking so awesome. 3 Quote
hepcatpunk Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 My wallet is not happy that these sets are looking so awesome. Yeah, way too many nice looking sets this year. Not complaining one bit. Quote
joch29 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I hope this will help give a boost to the MF sets...especially the vampire castle.. =) Quote
Veegs Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 I hope this will help give a boost to the MF sets...especially the vampire castle.. =) After the initial announcement I was worried, but mostly I think this theme gives a nice overall boost to the MF line. I can't remember where I read it, but I seem to recall that Halloween is the second most popular 'decorating' holiday in US/CAN, and who wouldn't want a large layout? 1 Quote

Halloween is the second grossing holiday in total revenue-- http://www.fashionavecpassion.com/halloween/ (beauty/fashion article but some good stats). So yeah, bring on the spooky LEGO! Quote
Kooz Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The plane looks pretty weak, but overall, I'm excited for these! I expect a bump in MF sales too. These don't compete with MF so much as compliment them (except maybe VC and the mansion). Quote
holleman67 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Ill probably be buying the figures off bl for me, looks like Velma will demand a premium depending on the price of the castle. Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Brickpicker mobile app Quote
jbacunn Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I love the lighthouse but I agree with what someone else said. if it had been one level higher it would have been perfect. Quote
ISO8T0 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I think I heard my wallet grown as I watched this with big eyes. 3 Quote
Alpinemaps Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I think I heard my wallet grown as I watched this with big eyes. I told my wallet to man up and grow a pair. We're getting all of these. 5 Quote
MartinP Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 These sets are awesome! Like others have said, the lighthouse could use another level. Other than that, they look great! Quote
Alpinemaps Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 This is not my original idea (stole this from Eurobricks), but...wait for it... Who wants to see Scooby-Doo and Batman MOCs? Me! Quote
Migration Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 This is not my original idea (stole this from Eurobricks), but...wait for it... Who wants to see Scooby-Doo and Batman MOCs? Me! And Phyllis Diller, and Mama Cass, and Don Knotts, and The Three Stooges. 1 Quote

Frank Brickowski Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 How is Scooby Doo supposed to perform better investment-wise while another iconic comic franchise - TMNT - bombed pretty much just recently? Quote
