Stores that still have Simpsons won't "reorder" the same product. Since they all have the same item number, they see stock in the store and won't order more until that stock is moving.

Their data entry staff needs to be replaced. Who would think to assign different SKUs to same IDs would be a good idea...?

You're thinking Target has a dedicated Lego person like TRU.  It doesn't.  I bet they would categorize this just one step above seasonal -- like add-on item products for amazon.

This is going to be relatively deep production IMHO so the Quick Flippers will suffer--but will have good long term legs as Halloween occurs every year and Lego won't revisit a heavy minifigure line like this again.

No. I wouldn't think they had a dedicated Lego entry person. I would think they use the same people & would have some sort of guidelines. Using the same product IDs is a shortcut.

I would think the business talks to IT...like a well run business would.

It's just that as others have pointed out, all lego CMF have the same item # with target. So if they see that they haven't moved any, they're not going to jump on more. Whereas after I bought my local target out of stock, they put another case+ on their hanging racks. Accursed racks! I never seem to get there when they have an unopened case.

i think it's more about the average non-AFOL working at Target not giving a flying flip and consider all CMF's the same thing.  Just random little toys that kids buy like assorted candy or hot wheels.  It's more ignorance than laziness.

These have only been officially available for 12 days.  It takes time for distribution to cycle through everywhere.   Ordering varies by store.  I expect to see multiple boxes in due time at places like 5 Below, but it could even be after Halloween haa past.

I'll probably regret mentioning this, but perhaps this is nothing new to this community.  Among action figure and/or hot wheels collectors some people would purge a store and go return it all to another store to trigger the ordering system to get the latest item.  Of course I personally don't condone such tactics, but I've seen it done.  In fact I'm usually the one getting screwed and finding an entire section of the same 1 or 2 old tired "pegwarmers" that collectors considered undesirable completely filling the pegs with no hope of finding anything new.  Basically he/she would clean out their hunting grounds and dump them into mine.

These days I wonder if stores have gotten wise to this and  perhaps a person would be flagged in their system if this is done often.

I did a fairly lengthy run this morning.  Went to quite a few targets, walmarts, and TRU.  The goal was mostly 3.75 and 6 inch star wars figures, but in just about every place monsters minifigures were stocked and in massive quantities.   In a few walmarts, I saw both simpsons and monsters cases.  In every store, I left them.  I didn't even feel like feeling out banshees and tiger girls, because with how far south prices have gone over the last few days, and with the minifigure cases being sent out, in my opinion there's no point in grabbing anymore until perhaps it's truly at the EOL cycle, which in my opinion won't be until february of next year.  Series 13 has just started to disappear from retail, and I suspect the Simpsons will be around until December at least.

Early results are showing the Tiger Lady is by far the most popular (and expensive) figure here in Australia, it's currently selling for 3x RRP. With only 3 per case I think this is the one to target.

Looks that way.

Was smooshing at Target yesterday and an Asian guy asked me what I was looking for. Turns out he was seeking Tigers to sell in Hong Kong.

The suited figures are very popular in Asia. With the Tiger being part of the Zodiac I can see these taking off like the previous ones

Somehow I don't think it's the Chinese Zodiac that's making it popular --- I fear it is a bit more. . . sinister.

A full-on catwoman wielding a whip with a cheeky smirk across the face, that's a kink for some especially in the land Anime originates from. The kind you usually pay for....in this case $3.99 (if you're lucky).

I do agree that my first reaction to seeing the Tiger Lady was that someone at TLG managed to sneak that in under the radar.

It could one day make the list of inappropriate toys like the Oozinator gun or the Twister Halloween costume for girls.

Just got back from my Target where they restocked the pegs.  Nice quiet time in the store... one hour of smooshing later, I scored my "case completion pack" (that's 20 packs: 2 Wolf Guy, 2 Witch, 2 Cheerleader, 2 Tiger, 2 Businessman, 2 Banshee, 2 Spider Lady, 1 Plant Guy, 1 Fly, 1 Specter, 1 Gargoyle, 1 Skeleton & 1 Square Foot). Now I'll have 5 complete sets with my case.  And - cuz "smooshin' was good" - I picked up a few extra of the rarer ones. B)
