Monsters are great, the timing seems even better. With Monster Fighters gone now, keeping monsters of a similar kind on the market seems like an excellent idea. Keeps up interest, no doubt they will do another revision of that theme again a few years from now.

Did you see the image of the Series 14 box put out today? One part of the cutout/perforation in the box (right side) matches the super big head of that mad scientist figure.

I see "Series 14" printed on that one box so I guess that throws out the side series theory and the color looks black in the picture which is the same as Series 8. Now I wonder if LEGO intended to make a second series for The Simpsons but wanted it to stay secret until now considering the first series had no number designation like this one with "Series 2" on the box and packets.

Just read that those leaked images are not the final versions for series 14, so hopefully that is good news for anyone who is interested in CMFs.

Well that's positive.

And I had high hopes when the first leaked pictures of X-Men Sentinel surfaced :(

Anyway, are they going for the "dark rainy day" motif on that CMF 14 box ?

The pics are basically minifigs in costume, not monsters.  These will not go great with the haunted House and Monster Fighters, unless you set up a trick-or-treat scene or something.

Too bad, in my opinion, but whatever.  There are always Halloweenish things to be found in LEGO  (Scooby Doo, for example).

There are a few Monsters missing.  I like them.  Zombies are investment winners.

i dunno about that...

since the series has 3 zombs in it...

i'd say time to sell retired zombs now before the market is flooded with them.

for example, i was one of the lucky ones to find a mr. gold relatively early in the game. however because a few counterfeiters were selling their "custom" versions for 30-80 each...that began to kick the Mr. Gold market down lower. i saw prices go from 2400 - 750.

but that's just an opinion.

3 Zombies?  I only count the series 1 Zombie...?

He's talking about the three currently known zombie characters in this to be released series you can see in the response below between the Zombie Cheerleader, Zombie Businessman, and Zombie Pirate Captain. Since each is a different sort of zombie, I think they all will do well personally. The cheerleader reminds me of Lollipop Chainsaw and the businessman is funny just because.

Here is a picture of the suspected series 14 line from Hoth Bricks.

I don't understand that logic mostly because what exactly is there stating these characters are specifically wearing costumes and not actual monsters? On the same token the creatures from Monster Fighters could simply be people wearing some sort of getup and are not real monsters. I get these minifigures are designed for Halloween bringing forth the notion of costumes but nothing so far mentions they are just trick-or-treaters.

Yes there are and I am sure there will be as before. Whoever managed to 'leak' that compilation image may have not taken shots of the remaining five.

and we all hope they are fuzzies so they quad in value

It's mostly because they are silly--guitar Frank, zombie cheerleader and guy with thing on his head, the plant, etc.  There are some that could be monster--the pirate for example.  Regardless, I'm in for all of them.  :)

They are rather silly indeed and share an appearance like that of classic cartoons from Hanna-Barbara when I think about it.

This could possibly be the first CMF series outside the Simpsons where I get the whole set.  Love the monsters theme idea.  At the very least the zombies are a must buy for me as I have a little mini collection of every Lego zombie minifig ever made - must get round to taking a pic and posting that up.

Would this drive up the price of monster house?

I dont think it needs any help.  and not sure much can push it faster than its already going.  will be keeping an eye on these for next halloween however.  likely be all over the shelves this year, only question is how long do they last.
