For anyone still wishing to continue the debate on smooshing practices and/or the subject of "new or used" can do so over in the "Ethics, Investment Methods and Practices" thread. All such posts here have been moved over there and so should any further discussion.

I was going through all of the minifigures that I have wound up with recently and I had a few Mummies and a small pile of skeletons. I think I will pull out some scared heads and surround a creator house with all of these guys and those undead I found. Make the minifigs in the house scared to come out.

I like the sound of that.

I have sealed cases in brown box from older series. Is there a way to know if they are strip or regular display case?

Yes, the strip-style boxes are slightly smaller than display case brown boxes. If you put them next to each other, you can tell. It is also possible to tell by the number on the brown box, but if varies from series to series and I unfortunately do not know those numbers off the top of my head.

So, you're saying these will take up less space in storage & to order more...;)

supposed to be the same but several forum members have reported minor distribution variances in previous series.

The last known distribution variance that I have found was series 3 when TLG had a second later distribution with only 2 fishermen per box.

Haha, of course! ...No, the size difference is not even a quarter of an inch. You have to look closely.

I would like to thank Jon from Minifigures Plus for responding with images of what we should expect.  I for one will keep my order as it was.  I might even buy more.  Having a sealed box of these sets mean very little difference (if any) if the sets will arrive in a LEGO shipping box as shown above.  This is not the Mr. Gold Series 10 CMF sealed box which could mean something.  These figures will be worth more broken down anyway, so there is no real reason not to buy it.  I also get the feeling these might be hard to come by very soon, so cancelling the order is risky IMO.

I found four boxes on the shelf at a TRU while out of town. At first, they refused to sell me an entire box. The manager then came over and asked if I was going to resell them. Of course I told her no. At this time, it's the truth. However, in a year or two, it might not be.

Other than this, I have yet to see these in many stores, and those that have them have little quantity.

Exactly. Short of a mass production next month these are going to be $300+ case sooner rather than later. And 95% of the people out there could care less about display or hanging strips especially if you have the outer box. Just my two cents...

I talked to a manager this morning about the monster minifig line regarding a restock. We walked over to a computer, he pulled up the inventory page and swung it around for me to see... +20k in stock in their distribution warehouse. I did confirm that these are not boxes, but the number of total poly bags.

For one Lego store? Yikes if so. I could see that for maybe a discovery center.

There was no shortage of series 12 or 13.  Granted 14 is much better imo, but for these to somehow have limited availability would be a surprise.  As another poster alluded, LEGO appears to be creating artificial initial scarcity to boost demand prior to a full on rollout in many of their lines.  The seasonal nature of these is something of a wildcard, but I would be surprised if anyone is unable to get their fill of these eventually.  Key word: eventually.

am I missing something? An exclusive that is not 2-3x for in a year is a failure but a box of cmfs at 25% above for is a good investment?

The TRU I went to sold out in a day, Today I found a case at WM, I dug through looking for SPider Lady and squarefoot. Turns out, I couldn't remember what to search for on Squarefoot, and I spent most of my time searching for the 3 zombie cheerleaders.also forgot to look for more cat lady. I think I got 2 pirate, 2 businessman,1 wacky witch,2 spider lady, 3 cheerleader, and 2 randoms that may or may not be squarefoot.

EDIT: First one I opened was squarefoot. all good
