75920 - Raptor Escape

I live next to about 2 million acres of federally protected wilderness.  While, there are some big box stores…it's what most of you would refer to as "the sticks".  Going to the small city with a couple targets, and a few walmarts is a 5 hour time commitment.   Going to the big big city with a lego store, many walmarts etc is a 10 hour one.  But, i'm still sitting on a few nice large boxes stashed with RE's..  And I did buy a few at lego shop at home when they were available last round.

And none of these have gone over 2x.   I sell on amazon too, and have kept track.  Doubling your money means you put in 40 and made 80.  Not sold for 80, but after taxes and fees, made 30% rrp.

Florida has at least a 6% sales tax.  So it's not 40.00.  Federal taxes during tax man time will gobble up more of that profit.  Gas knocks it down some more.  Do you not factor in these things?

I do.  I also factor it in for every set I sell.  Therefore, relatively, I can leave those things out when discussing the merits of investing in one set or another.

of course you know you can not consider 30320 a valid investment either even it sells for many over 2x msrp.

stupid me I sold them at 15 bucks originally months ago and now with scarcity I buy every one I can find back at 20 bucks currently...

breathing is a cost you need to factor in as well

breathing = life = time.

I think people are misinterpreting what i'm saying. My holdup is not people flipping these for profit, nor taking that profit and reinvesting it.  Yes, technically going by the average amazon metrics over the last couple months, one could average selling 3 RE's and buying 1 back (at rrp with state sales tax included in) for free.   If you can find the volume, and accomplish it.. go for it.  That is great.

My holdup is many claiming to clear at least 43 profit on these sets at the moment without factoring in real world costs.  That sell 1 and get 1 for free has not happened yet. And sorry, I do factor in what I paid for it (which includes sales tax, a small amount in gas money for the effort, federal sales tax for capital gains, amzon/ebay fees, shipping costs, and materials and supplies that are required to make a sale), but that's just me..

So as a follow up. Only 1 store of the 5 near me had these. I asked associate to scan in two of the stores and they each said that there were 12 on order.

I had an associate tell me they had 12 RE and 12 IR on order and they should arrive in 2 weeks.   That was a month ago.  They got 4 RE 3 days ago.

just found four raptor escape sets hidden at my local Walmart, don't know if I should buy them though

You must put them back, obviously someone hid them there due to evil spirit surrounding it and will bring bad luck to the buyer.

Speaking of hidden...I must go back tonight to check the 15x Pteranodon Capture I hidden in the junk food section.

You know, just to make sure bad luck doesn't get spread around.

For some reason I have a hard time spotting these on the shelves at Walmart that are packed full of LEGO sets.  I don't know if it's the sheer volume of sets available that has me going cross-eyed but I usually have to take a second look before I spot the raptors.  I feel like this every time I go into TRU also.  As a kid at heart there's so much eye candy and it's a bit overwhelming when trying to find something specific.
