Good point.  Walmart sold out last week at $80 and change.  Does that hurt or support my argument?

No definite conclusions can be made just yet. It could have been over zealous resellers thinking the set was gonna go crazy right before the holiday. Who knows.

They would have to be 'over zealous' indeed!  We have some here who have no faith in this set at $40 while others can find them in 'some' stores.  And others who scoff that this set sold out at $80.00+ from Walmart.com and is now $98+ (with shipping) from a WM third-party retailer (which 80% of the public that visits Walmart.com would not notice in the slightest).  I'm now taking my REs and going home...

looks like walmart got 8 X replacement of following:

75915 Pteradon Capture

75916 Dilophosaurus Ambush

75920 Raptor Escape

this is based on about 5 walmarts i visited. depending on how many BP'ers or Resellers in your area one may be able to get few of those.

Since, my area is saturated with fellow BP'ers i couldn't get any 75920. but had to feel satisfied with 75916 and 75915

Yea I am no math major but the point is to make money. RE is the easiest no Brainer to buy right now and one of the most profitable lego we will see for awhile. Not saying it will go 5x after retirement but it has been able to be flipped for almost double msrp since it came out. I understand people that sell on ebay or non FBA it is tougher but there is no other non retired set that you can sell for 30-50% profit. Yeas my profit from this last restock sold for $80 which is aound $23 but that is lowest they have been. They were selling for almost 100$. I am nearing 100 sales of this set and it is not even Christmas or retired. Please whatever you do Stay away from this set.

As an aside, for those of you that 'don't have faith in the JW sets', eBay just listed 9 toys that you can sell without commission right now.  6 of the items were LEGO sets.  3 of those were JW.

  • Wall-e
  • IR
  • Pteradon Capture
  • TOO
  • EEE
  • Dilophosaurus ambush

Is this a targeted promo? If not, where do I find it?

I am on the same boat as you brother... sold over 60 of these in the since Nov 1. Still have 40 with AZ and found 15 more today. However, the retired tag on EU made me pushed the pause button on continue to sell this set. Will have to monitor the development of this into December.

With the EU retired tag today, it's a safe bet less than 1% of this will end up in consumer ends. We might be trampling over ourselves if we continue to flood at the $80 mark.

We must think alike because the only reason i am selling is because I left 40 in reserved for retirement. But now I might also raise price for a little bit to see what happens after Black Friday. The fact that this is top 1000 in Toys and has been even with the 95$ price tag a while back is consumers are buying these. I think price dips to around $75 FBA then rises back to $90 before Christmas. So i might also hold onto remaining 15 i have.

No, I don't believe it is.  Anyone on eBay can sell those toys for 0% commission.  Well, I believe they reimburse you with eBay GC.

Okay, not trying to be a pain here, but do you have a link that points to info about this? I have searched for way too long trying to find any details and I cannot find anything.

Nevermind, I found the link on Daily Deals thread. I just listed some IR today so I am hoping I don't have to click on their "sell now" button to get the gift card.

If I were you, I'd just contact customer service.  It wouldn't take more than 5 min (maybe 10 if their Hindi is strong) .  Then you'd at least have peace of mind, as well as documented proof for anything that might go awry during the promotion.

Nah, I think you guys are fine.  Just keep blowing through your supply at $75 - $85 (or whatever Fossil thinks these are going for these days).  They'll just keep producing these into 2017, so you'll have plenty of time to restock and the parents and grandparent of all the Timmies and Janes of the world will have ample supply at retail due to the flooding of the market by WM and TLG.  My guess is there will be at least 5 more massive restocks before Christmas and then weekly restocks through February until TLG will list them as Available for months on end.  Now, if I could just find that darn 'sarcasm' button.

Dang, Walmart back to sold out.  Again, no worries!!   HUGE restocks coming!

Just a note:  $81.97 > $39.99 * 2.

Also, if you're feeling a bit *squeamish* about your current investment because you bought at RRP, I do know someone that will buy them from you for RRP + .01.  Guess who?  ToyWiz!!  Just bounce over there, look up the set and you can sell all of these you want to those fools over at TW for $40.00564430af72735_75920wm.thumb.jpg.83f71825.

I personally don't care if someone wants to drive all around florida, or canada and spend their time collecting JW to make a few grand.  That's their prerogative. Some of you sound fairly young and don't have the daily time commitments others might have.  So go for it. If that's your hobby or job, and you are making a living wage at it, then go for it.

My point is that I don't plan on buying anymore, because i'm not going to spend anymore time chasing these down.  My free time of late is fairly bogged down to where i'm stuck mostly chasing sets online, which is not really applicable with RE's at the moment. I do think these sets will be around 150 to 200 eventually, but it will take time.   I did physically chase JW down in July/August and it did take up quite a bit of my free time that I have on the weekends. I'll probably see a few grand return on these too… Life is good, regardless.  So, the reason I refuse to sell my stock now is that I don't have time to drive all around hundreds of miles picking up a bunch… I'm going to wait.  Please understand not everyone has the same amount of free time.

For what its worth I drove around my city for 3 1/2 hours and picked up 30 from a total of 4 walmart's.

It did not take long and was quite fun.

Of course I did spend gas, make a lot of left turns and bought 5 sliders and fries at a white castle that I have not been to in years.

So costs were high but hey for a Europe retired set that may be retiring here it was worth the extra heartburn

I totally get that and to each his own.  The worth of a person's time can only be measured by that person.  We all have to decide, in one way or another, what our time is worth.  But that's not what you said.

Regardless with how overly hoarded these have become, I don't expect steller returns for quite some time.

None of these have gone over 2x.  I've been waiting for that to happen for quite some time.  I used to watch JW like a hawk, but I stopped bothering over the last few weeks, because prices have sort of plateaued, and have started to slowly decline on some of these..  The closest they got to 2x was back in July, and that wasn't 2x profit, that was just straight 2x from RRP - and they never hit that level, unless people did creative bundles.  These have been mostly around 30% RRP.  While that's decent, i've come to the conclusion there is a microbubble that has formed here too.

That's much different than what you just posted.  2x RRP did happen, and is happening, right now.  And I don't know what anyone's definition of "stellar returns" is, but if a any WS investor could double his money after holding for a day, continuously, for weeks, he'd be a hot commodity.
