TheGallows Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Clearing out the old stock, ready for the new catalogue Quote
lego_fan Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 these are brilliant deals. lots of money to be made at christmas if you buy recognisable sets at prices like these. but i am all full up for now, could have got a lot of sets cheaper if i had waited for this. Quote
Tpkuk Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 (edited) Looks like it is stock for the new catalogue but incorrectly listed at the Jan/Feb clearance prices (apart from the jek-14) Cargo train & police station now back to full RRP, get in quick if you find a store with stock if you want the cheaper prices. Also - use fastrack and pay online for store pickup, Argos have a habit of changing prices even though you reserved at the cheaper price. Guest TabbyBoy Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 With Argos, always reserve/collect as you don't want your sets smashed while being sent in thin bin-liners, do you? A bit worrying to see R5 as it looks like another year+ to go yet. The AT-AT may be worth getting but, hopefully other retailers will soon be competing. Quote
Tpkuk Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 Up to you - you can always reject the goods when you collect - to be honest all my packaging disasters come from John Lewis. I've had good luck with Argos and the 'bin bags'!R5 could be this years r2d2 at Argos, especially if they do 3 for 2 in September/ November. Quote

When I went to pick up 15 Dolphin Cruisers (£44.99 and 3 for 2) from Argos a while back, I had to leave 6 of them behind. I've had no problems with Amazon (non-reseller) orders. However, I always keep my eye out for Argos 3 for 2 offers. Quote
skanks Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Prices seem to be back to RRP now. When I was looking last week lots of these knock down priced items were out of stock in my area. Not sure what Argos are doing as they have also taken all the Mixels off their site. I know these aren't everyone's cup of tea but at £1 each they were a no-brainer. Hopefully they will be back when they realise their listings were a bit daft.Only temptation for me at Argos now is http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1285013.htmThese could be easy pickings at Xmas as I'm sure the RRP on these are £10 each. Tpkuk Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Looks like the new catalogue is out today, so worth checking clearance deals once the website / app is back online. Quote
maestro Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) New Argos Catalogue in Ireland has following prices for exampleNewe Mercedes Truck €258 (with motorised) - is the motor and option? - that's $280Scooby Doo Mystery Machine €45 - that's $49Red 5 €250Seems way to expensive Edited July 18, 2015 by maestro Quote
skanks Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Since the new catalogue has come out they have taken all the Mixels off their site except for Series 5.I'm thinking these will suddenly appear at basement prices but who knows when lol. Quote
feed Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) How are we all doing this morning? Edited July 24, 2015 by feed Quote
skanks Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I had a look on their 3 for 2 offer. The Architecture sets and Avengers sets are tempting, but there are other sets that I want to load up on at this point in time. Quote

Stock levels are very poor too. Quote
feed Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Jurassic World if they have stock, I haven't seen any decent discounts on these (I managed T-Rex and Rampage).Hulk Buster is also worth a punt, on for 9 at the mo. Quote
GiliusThunderhead Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Might be a bit early in the life but what about Shuttle Tydirium? Quote
skanks Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 To make this deal worthwhile then really you have to be looking at sets from 2014 or before IMO. The closer to EOL the better :-) Quote
skanks Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Hulk Blaster is also on my shortlist. LEGO Shop at Home out of stock along with a couple of other places and with some decent figures it could be worth a go at £20 a pop. Quote
TheGallows Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Hulk buster looks like its OOS.I managed to get 6 ( 2 lots of 3 ) and a £5 lego voucher with each £25 spend. Sweetens the deal a little. Quote
feed Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Might be a bit early in the life but what about Shuttle Tydirium? Tydirium is a good bet. It’s nice set and it’s very well priced for the UK, at £79.99. Looking at other SW sets, you usually see a much closer price parity with US; I.e GBP:USD 1:1AT-AT retails at £109.99 - $109.99MTT £89.99 – $89.99AT-TE £79.99 – $89.99 £79.99 - $99.99 for the Ty at a 0.80 ratio is the lowest besides EV at £199.99 - $249.99. Given this I doubt there will be as much scope to discount this set in the future. So 1/3 off is going to be good. But it is early and argos do have 3/2 sales fairly often. Quote
Sprocket77 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Don't forget that Argos have ramped up their prices in the last few weeks so it's not really 1/3rd off Quote
feed Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Well they’ve moved them back to RRP, and RRP has to be the benchmark. Sure if they’ve moved a 25%discount back to retail with a 3/2 it’s a different detail, but it’s still 1/3 off RRP. Quote
Sprocket77 Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I don't know what RRP you guys are paying, cause it's a lot higher than mine. Hulkbuster is €10 higher, so is the new bat boat. Red Five is €50 higher, the only half decent deals are the Jurassic World and there seems to be no stock. Quote
feed Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Hulkbuster is RRP £29.99 / $29.99 / €34.99. If you’re seeing €44.99, then yeah, that sucks. Quote
