apparently on the Lego shop.com website for Canada and U.S.A the Lego disney mini figures are sold out??? But why?? they just recently got released??  Hope they will get another shipment in.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe "sold out" means they will not be getting any more.  If they were expecting more, it would say "temporarily out of stock."

This has been discussed many times on this site. Don't read anything into "sold out" and its color flavors (red/orange/yellow). "Retired" is more permanent. These will come back.

There, fixed it. But yes, I think all recent series except simpsons sold out at the start and came back. Let the panic hoarding begin!

Never really paid much attention to the minifigs before.  How quickly do they typically come back?

Within a year.

Seriously though, it'll likely take a few weeks but they should be showing again. My personal theory is that "TOoS - expected xxx" gets applied when LEGO Shop at Home already has a new order in process from the factory, where as "Sold Out" means that they haven't requested a new order yet.

And I never paid much attention to how long they stay sold out... but I'm guessing it will be a couple weeks. The S14 thread is full of speculations about all of this though... S15 wasn't nearly as chaotic. :)

SW belongs to Disney now, not sure it matters? Besides, May the 4th would mean nothing to Disney without SW and Space Slugs!

[Space Slugs... grumble grumble]

I realize that it's ALL Disney IP. I just thought that during the SW Day sale, SW would be a bigger draw than first wave Disney CMF.

[My opinions have proven worthless as per usual. My name is slug.]

I think it's just that CMFs period are a huge draw ... affordable for everyone. Toss in the very first Disney characters in LEGO format and there was no way Star Wars would outsell them with the slug of a set Assault on Hoth as the new release.

1st series (or first few series-can't remember) didn't require smooshing, barcodes were all different and I remember having barcode cheat sheet  not sure if that was actually better/faster than smooshing...

Series 1 and 2. Way faster with an iPhone scanning the UPC...

I grabbed around 200 packs of these little things and I can't figure out for the life of me how you guys manage to figure out who is who. I think I read it was smoothing or something... but I have no idea how to do it. I tried a couple and got them totally wrong. Haha, oh well, looks like I'm buying the gf a nice dinner so she can figure out who is who otherwise I'll be stuck with a mountain of them. There goes the profits!

And you said Lego was stupid, now who's ......? ;)

Sorry you can only get magic sorting baskets on the east coast of Canada... Smooshing is the process of feeling up polybags to determine the contents without opening it. You should know that by now. Smoothing is what you do with an iron to unwrinkle clothing.

I bet polybags aren't the only thing that's so tiny in those hands.

I shared 1 awesome thing about me and the mods censored and made fun of me.  All are welcome to the Big Easy and say hello to my "tiny" left hook.

Back to topic.  This minifig thing is stupid.  You spend hours and hours "smoosh"-ing 200 packs to make 50 cents per pack if you are lucky.   I pay my cleaning lady much better than that and she does not even vacuum under my coffee table. How do you make money out of this stupid things?  This whole thing is an exercise in stupidity.  There is no money in this.

Now my fingers all cramped up and I have to disappoint my girlfriend tonight.  What a waste of TIME!!

It will get easier to tell what they are. My kids and I have done this with 4 series and have got it down to about 1 mistake out of every 20.
