Kenxxx Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 How many of these is everyone picking up? What is the forecast on how long Wall-e will be with us and rise in value? I'm no expert at all. Worst forecaster ever. And I say this set is going to be available in quantity and for a long time (2yrs or more). So the smart money would do the opposite of what I say, and buy up plenty ASAP. Seriously though, I understand IDEAS sets can be "limited" or short lived at times... I can consider comparisons to Back To The Future, and Ecto-1... but both of those movies are over 30 years old. BTTF is the ugliest DeLorean I've ever seen. Ecto-1 is great, but still an adult focused theme. Wall-E appeals to all ages... is such a loved, and major character... It is such a great looking model (boxy robot is the perfect theme for Lego), reasonable price point, Lego's cozy relationship with Disney right now... I just think all these add up to plenty of demand and plenty of supply for this set. This could be the Death Star of the IDEAS line... ok... maybe that's a little dramatic... but if people love it and keep buying it, why would Lego ever stop making them? 2 Quote
Sozial Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 i am holding until Wall-E 2 Will there be a second part? Quote
montreid Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Did you see Short Circuit 2? Not a good idea. Loved Wall-E; one of my all time favorites and throwbacks to old school silents. Keep it a classic; no further story to tell on this one IMHO. Quote
montreid Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Not the purpose of Ideas to keep it forever. If it has legs, Lego will branch off and incorporate into Disney line with modifications. Then again, it IS Disney, so all bets are off on the duration and depth of this release. Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I'm holding off as this could be another Exo Suit. Quote
jaylay Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I'm holding off as this could be another Exo Suit.Wall-E ain't no Exo suit and an Exo suit ain't no Wall-E. Get your quota. Either now or later. Then move on. Taking advantage of double VIP and TRUTH and FAO is a good idea as discounts are getting hard to come by as time moves on. Many of you know how easy it was to get discounts on Lego often, it ain't like that anymore. 4 Quote
Val-E Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 TOOS EU shop. Something´s up as there was plenty of stock yesterday. Quote
Val-E Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) I'm holding off as this could be another Exo Suit.Wise words. No need to go in big on these so soon - look at how demand has tapered off for TBBT and Lego have more than 8k of that item in stock. Edited October 9, 2015 by valenciaeric Quote
TigerG Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I think something is up with the data for the EU stock tracker...it was alread TOOS yesterday when there was supposed to be huge restock - on the other hand you got IR now available and the Stock tracker didn't show any restock. Quote

Val-E Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Still TOOS in Europe. Wonder if it has been pulled due to a QC issue.... 1 Quote

Val-E Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 For the same issue to arise twice is a bit careless on TLG´s part. Now, if they don´t solve the issue quickly this could well be a very good Xmas flip! Quote
cissi Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 They still sell them on LEGO Shop at Home though. Let's see how long it takes for them to take it down or mark TOOS. Quote
dcdfan Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Wouldn't it be great if LEGO just said to hell with it it's too much of a PITA...? 1 Quote

Val-E Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Quick flip heaven! That´s why ToO is still available, everyone is looking for Wally. 1 Quote
