slobey Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Hi guys, Picked up this one today off a local classified website: IMG_0549 by slobey79, on Flickr It may not be as fancy as the displays they have today but this is the way the displays were when I was a kid staring longingly at the new cool sets that were out :-) I haven't bought this for investment but out of curiosity anyone know what it would be worth? Furbs Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 It is a very cool display box, i remember these from when i was a kid, unfortunately i don't know what its worth, i tried to find some on eBay to no success. Are the models inside glued together like modern day displays? can you access the inside of the case easily? Quote
slobey Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 The models are glued together and the box can be accessed by undoing the screws on the front on either side of the sticker. The Perspex then slides up and out, it's pretty air tight there wasn't much dust in there and I'm pretty sure it hasn't been opened. Quote
Ed Mack Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Could be worth quite a lot. It is very rare. I have been collecting LEGO displays for 5 or 6 years and I have never seen one of these. As with anything, it's worth what someone is willing to pay, but this should sell for more than the newer ones. Quote
TheOrcKing Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Whoa. Do not remember ever seeing an EXPLORIENS display! This is really, REALLY RARE! Simple yes, but very rare indeed. Quote
