Now that I'm quietly done cleaning a bunch of IR sets still online on TRU, you guys can finish off the rest.

179CAD on amazon.ca and 140USD on TRU.COM now. Go to the IR board and get that credit card ready to clean the remaining sets.

Y'all better not step anywhere near my TRU's.  Im going to pick up a couple IR tonight.

Seriously.  I'll cut you! :D

Has someone tried to use their 15$ card from black friday week-end? Im heading there this afternoon, maybe Ill be lucky and get that 10$ card and that santa too using my card, would be awsome

I tried today on a full-priced set and no luck. It did however work on the Lego minifigure display cases my local store still had in stock.

You sure? Check again. You might want to grab some and if you don't see $200 by end of month, just return them in store. No biggy.

The minifig display cases are good if you can find them. TRU Canada sells them for the same price as TRU USA....$30. Lego store sells them for $40.

So, 2x $30, then apply the $15 discount isn't so bad.

Lego store 2x $40 = $80, vice 2x $30 -$15 =$45

Either way, I'm using these for my own storage needs, vice investment/resale.

Oh FFS. Guess I should read the fine print even more finely :P

I'll try to charm the cashier with my smooth talking and good looks.

You can for sure talk them into it. Just go and wipe out those IR sets before they rocket to 200USD in a week.

I successfully used a card on a lego 20% set at the Saint Bruno store and received a $10 card for January, but they had no more promo set left or I would have gotten that also.

I won`t be using the rest of my 4 cards, so if anyone wants them let me know and I will mail them to you. :)

I thought returning sets just because you can't sell them is a big no-no?

What's the big no-no on this. TRU policy is 45 days. I cleaned some IR sets today with the $15 card and the manager asked me if I'm selling them, I said yes. Then she asked will I return them if I can't sell them, I said I might. She chuckled. No law against returning.

This kinda stuff should be discussed in the ethics thread. Anyway, returning sets you can't sell (in large quantities) is frowned upon because it is not good for resellers. Do what you want, but don't promote these kinds of practices. If you want to discuss the topic, feel free to do so in the ethics thread.

Well although there isn't a law against returning, doing that in large quantities can cause companies to be abusing their return policy and result in negative changes in their (liberal) return policy. Up to you if you want to do that, I guess. And honestly if you can't take the risk yourself in holding your own Lego stock and living with your mistakes, and instead have to run back to TRU to return extra sets I perhaps would ask you to reconsider "investing" in Lego.

**EDIT**  Got it c-rpg. I was just responding to his comment that's all.

4 transactions today, three Trevi fountains and a mystery machine with a trick or treat set to get that one over $50. The girl took the $15 off cards from last week for all of them and got four more $10 cards for January. AND four bonus Santa sets, not bad for a Friday morning.

The rules are there, you play by it, I play by it. I write about it, and does that mean I am the only one doing this? One time I saw one guy return 8 sets of the Town Hall. Too bad he didn't held on, that's his problem now. I don't think I'll be returning the IR. I made a decent amount percentage-wise last year. When it goes oos completely, the only thing I can think of is why I didn't clean the remaining sets that are still live on TRU now. This also happened to me on the Sea Cow last year, I cleaned 36 sets and there were still 8 sets on Amazon.ca for $349 last year. The problem is that I bought my previous 36 sets from TRU for a nice sale price. This is the problem with many who can't stomach paying MSRP prices. Imagine paying MSRP prices for the Wolverine Chopper with deadpool or Antman sets.

As I mentioned before, the Maze and IR sets are still available but oos in every other country except Canada. Great investments and guaranteed profit.
