I'd be curious to learn if these folks are end-users. If they were, they might be amenable to the idea of flattened boxes, sealed bags. Could make the parcel considerably smaller volume and cut down shipping costs. Might have to give it a try.

I've been communicating with one fellow, and he is planning on giving them as a gift to his girlfriend for Christmas, so he would like them intact.

On an unrelated note, I did have one individual open to doing that with a London Bus I had, but it ended up selling overnight before I could get to his message.

Have you considered shipping out of Bellingham?  I don't know if you ever go from N. Vancouver across the border but it appeared that the last set I sold had a $19 shipping charge from the GSP so it was reasonable for the buyer.

I don't own a vehicle. Makes the trip over the border with goods rather challenging ;)

I do have a good friend who just moved out to Langley and has a car. The border is close enough to him.... but still, all the coordination involved, just not sure it's worth the effort and potential headache. I'm patient.... they'll sell eventually, and if they don't, free parts.

I don't bake the selling price of the bricktobers into my "discount" on the set I had to purchase to earn them. I know people have different methods for this, but I treat the bricktobers as $0 Buy-In, and the set purchased at whatever the price was (typically RRP). So I'd consider them free parts if I can't move em.

I've noticed one of my local TRU's has started to stock a ton of exclusives. Heli-Carrier, Tie Fighter, F40, Toy Shop, Temple of Airjitsu, Simpsons House. And not just 1 of each, but 2-6 of them. Anyways probably nothing groundbreaking, but in my area I've never seen a TRU so stocked with exclusives.

Saw this year's City advent calendar in store for the first time last night and picked one up. This may not be news to most of you but the clerk mentioned that they get their deliveries on Wednesdays so new products typically hit the floor on Thursdays. This was in response to me asking about the Star Wars advent calendar. I plan to pick up one of each advent every time I'm in any store selling these for as long as they're available. Easy money come November when they're sold out and parents are panicking.

FYI, Amazon.ca have Star Wars calendar for $39.99 which I believe is a pricing error. Normally SW is $10 more than the city/friends making the SW one $49.99.

Take this with a grain of salt. Absolutely worth asking and finding out at whatever your local shop is, but working for MEC, another nation-wide retailer, I can state with certainty that different stores in the chain get deliveries on different dates. Logistics of running the warehouse, plus the sheer size of Canada dictate this. To coordinate delivery on the same day for every store across the country would be madness, and I highly doubt it's the case. Heck, my local Oakridge Lego Store used to get shipments on Tuesdays, now they come Thursdays. These things fluctuate, but it's definitely useful to be in the loop.

Bought some series 16 figures the other day and got the cat burglar figure, only to discover it had 2 hairpieces but no torso. First time anything like that's happened to me. Drunken factory workers I guess. On the bright side, I can use the pieces to customize the Catwoman figure to be something more like Anne Hathaway's version. Comes with whip, headpiece and even the right colour hair.

Pretty big blanket %20 off sale going on next week. Normally i wouldn't bite at %20, but I've got a few gift-cards to burn, so i might take a look. Possibly pick up some Shuttle Tydiriums.

%20 off all Disney Princess, Minecraft, DC Superheroes, Classic

%20 off select Star Wars, Ninjago

I'm waiting for the Lego store October deals now. Double VIP points and get a free exclusive advent calendar with $100 purchase should be worth more than 20% off by far. Plus the physical stores seem to be doing a lot of sales lately.

Also in TRU news, the same flyer shows you can get the Black Series Tie Fighter for half off at $80 for 4 days starting tomorrow.

There are levels of madness. I buy comic books weekly and those are delivered every week on Tuesdays for Wednesday sale across the industry. Similarly, new movie media (blu rays, etc.) are released in stores on Tuesdays every week, across retailers.

The only problem is shipping that heavy big box! It will cost way more to ship that thing than what its worth. Not to mention having to find/buy a shipping box for it will cost few bucks.

That's what local Craigslist is for. :) Picked one up. If this thing is gone before Christmas I should have a sale by then.
