If you spend $50 on lego this week you get a $10 coupon to be used on Lego during the month of September.

The fine print at the store says on "regular priced LEGO only" IIRC. Of course I doubt everyone will enforce that but it kept me from buying. :)

** oops, just finished loading the current flyer .. it says it in there too. **

I know everyone but me hates Chima, but it's technically still a clearance...  one of my local TRU's had the mammoth fortress on clearance for 50% (yes still) but they also added a buy1 get 1 50% of the clearance price on clearance marked items - so %75 off if you bought two. (there were no signs or posters)

I haven't bought any Hulkbusters or Batboat with Deathstrokes for resale yet so 20% off might be the time to do it. Hulkbuster and the rest of the Avengers 2 wave must be about ready to go EOL, and I'm also tempted by Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas with all the unique minifigs in there.

I always say you can't lose on 50% off lego, so 75% off is a sweet deal. Even if you sell them for 50% off MSRP, that's a 100% gain.

Not quite.  Not sure how Thumper got to 75% off.  Buying an item at 50% off and another which is 50% off of 50% off is the average of 50% and 75% which is 62.5% off.

Selling at 50% MSRP 0.5/.375 -1 only gives you a 1/3% profit.

Quite right indeed, %50 off %50 off was making my brain hurt trying to figure on that :-)

True that. Still a deal I would take no question as these should be simple to sell at more than 50% off.

That's OK, I need a breather before, hopefully, a decent Bricktober.

Ugh, are they really going to do another bricktober???  they were still giving last year's mini modular buildings away free with any Lego purchase as late as just a couple weeks ago.

I hope that TRU keeps giving them away because I like free money (yes, it takes a while to sell if you're based in Canada but it's still a free $70-75)

I'm struggling to even get Views, let alone Watchers or Buyers, at the $75 mark recently.

Lol, I'm sure we could all figure out who each of us are on ebay by simply searching Bricktober and filtering by Canada, I'm sure we've all got some listed :P

Any folks that don't report to the "Sell today" thread that have moved any of these recently? Wondering if location within Canada plays any factor. Shipping costs etc.

I gave up selling them on ebay and sold them individually locally. For whatever reason they went quicker that way. My guess is many people have 1 or 2 and don't need all 4. Thankfully i'm all out of em now, more work than it was worth in the end for me.

I've got multiple listings up to give people those options. Individual listings at 16 or 17 each, or a bundle of all 4 at $75. Yes. A smart buyer would purchase each individually and save $15. Still no takers. It's a bummer. I'm contemplating just opening them all and adding ~1500 detailing parts to my bins for MOCing. :o

I haven't really tried local selling much. Sold a few things on CL last holiday season, but the meet ups and stand ups are just too much hassle most of the time, especially for a $15 set.

Thanks for the input anyway mate :)

I ship domestically out of the US and the last set I sold was through the GSP.  Profit was approximately $75 Canadian after shipping and fees.  Shipping this in Canada sucks and you probably have to sell it at around $50 US shipped to get a sniff.

I've had quite a bit of interest from international folks (Hong Kong, Taiwan, France, Italy), but the shipping fees are too much to swallow for them.

I'd be curious to learn if these folks are end-users. If they were, they might be amenable to the idea of flattened boxes, sealed bags. Could make the parcel considerably smaller volume and cut down shipping costs. Might have to give it a try.

I tried offering this one year when i had way too many of the Christmas set (i think it was the skating rink). And had basically no luck with this method :( Everyone wanted it with the box. I did have 1 who took up the offer and i could fit the item and the flattened box in lettermail.
