TRU Canada Sales and Clearance

I was able to find 3 more Milano ships at the Toys r Us in Markham but everything else was wiped clean.  Funny thing is, inside the toys r us store, there was a family 5, comprising of 1 adult and 4 kids sitting on the floor with open boxes of lego series 13 and 14 minifigures. They were going thru them, touching, feeling what kind of minifigure they can find inside the package and all the while toys r us employee just walking in front of them and not saying anything.  Very odd scene.

Maybe they were filming an indie horror movie that ties in to Lego & (of course) evil. No other explanation for me.

The series 13 minifigures are on clearance for $2.98 + BOGO if you can find any in store.

Oooh, thanks, I was so busy price matching and grabbing Five Armies sets, I completely didn't check out CMFs. I don't think they'll make me rich, but at this price, hard to lose.

Is still see the 75920 Raptor Escape from time to time at Walmart, don't know if they are worth buying at retail though.

Yeap these made a small quick comeback a week ago at many WM, I don't think you should pass on these for further Quick flip this year .. long term I can't tell .. but for sure quick flip, worst scenario you'll resell at your cost ! no way to loose money on any JW sets

Argh I was denied a price adjustment because apparently I needed to bring the actual set in and not just the receipt. Wtf. Am I able to call in and see if i can get it adjusted if i bought the items in store?

They should be able to just do a full refund by looking at the receipt and then resell you everything again with the BOGO discount. I have not have to bring the physical product in yet. Unless policy has change to combat reseller, which is not really a smart thing to do right now when all signs are pointing weak economic outlook in 2016 for Canada.

These stores should be thanking us for buying up so much of their products throughout the year ;)

No go via phone. They said because I purchased in store, I have to price adjust in store. Ah what a waste of time! Don't really want to go back to the mall and get in line ugh.

What were you planning to get adjusted? Sea Cow? Tumblers? Service Truck?

I bought 6 Technic Service trucks on the 24th at Metrotown (Burnaby) for 99.98. Today, I went to the TRU on Broadway (Vancouver) and the lady refunded all my orders and did a repurchase. No lineups there at all. Also saw lots of Knowhere Escapes and a few Hydra fortresses there. Those didn't interest me that much. Ended up cleaning some of their Optimus Prime Transformers Year of the Goat version instead. Nobody cared to walk into the video games section. Prime for 99.98 and second one for half. That is a sweet deal.

(for anyone reading the CT Madness thread.... and for those not, just read the last few pages with an eye to what might be considered unethical behaviour)

I don't personally see anything wrong with trying to get a price match if you're within the time frame. I am surprised they are quoting 45 days since their website says 15 days... and I am surprised that they are doing price match in-store with a return-repurchase if you bought online since that also goes against their policy, but I don't think it's unethical - especially for those who tried online for their online purchase and were refused. I also see that the clearance stuff shouldn't have been price matched, but it certainly seems like a loose policy.

I'll put it this way ... if retailers want to play games with prices after a product is sold out to make their "sales" and "clearance" prices look better - i.e. so uninformed consumers say "Damn, that was a good sale too bad I missed it!" then I think we as consumers (resellers or not) are entitled to get a price match. In this case, nobody intentionally bought out all the stock with the intent of getting a clearance price match. Nobody lied about products being in-stock to get a price match (or at least advertised that they did). It just seems like people legitimately bought these sets then they went on sale/clearance and I think they are entitled to the advertised discount.

Please let me know if that does not makes sense.

Just a couple of milanos. It isn't that much so I dunno if I'm gonna make the trip back. The Broadway one is a little harder for me to get to only coz I take the bus. Boo urns!

$17.49 refund, it might not be worth the lineup, but you could go and clean some X-men Sentinels or Hydra Fortress if you're lucky. :)

i managed to grab 2 x MTT and 2 x Coruscant Gunship, though i am thinking to return the MTT as i don't see much potential in it, the Gunship seem to be the better deal

also cleaned out X-men Sentinels and Hydra Fortress.  Do you guys think its better to part out the mini figures on BL or hold on to it and sell later?

Hard to say, its a TRU exclusive (meaning it will/has lingered for a good while longer than it should) and an inferior model to the previous version. I think if someone really wants an MTT they will go for the better model.

At the BOGO price though i'd think you'll still make some money, but for me the gamble isn't worth the shelf space right now.

I'm taking my daughter shopping today so I'll check my store stock. At Bogo 50% I'd probably grab a couple. I honestly think I've moved about 20 SW sets in the last seven days - and not just OT sets, but prequel and Clone wars stuff, too. (No TFA as I don't have any left to sell) I'd wager some modest to good gains can be made with bogo.
