Out of Stock Status

Hi everyone, Im new to this forum. Recently im looking for a new PC. Im afraid PC will be retiring soon.

look at the store snapshot, the status "Out of stock, will ship in 30 days" is green for PR, and the others are in red....is it some sorta indications? panic mode on?

I noticed that before with TOO. If you click on PR it is in stock.

My guess is that it's more of a website glitch than anything. When I view it from S@H Canada, it shows in stock in the view above and the others show out of stock in red. The underlying glitch is poor caching of the website stylesheets. It happens all the time in the web world but people don't usually notice because they don't visit a website every 5 minutes like the addicts around here with S@H.

Yeah it's a caching problem. LEGO Shop at Home has them all the time. Usually more reliable if you click through to the set page. Though I'm sure that can get screwed up too.

Really LEGO Shop at Home is a pretty poor site for a billion dollar company. Of course it wasn't really that long ago that Lego wouldn't allow online sales, so...

What is TOO?

Pet Shop and Palace Cinema look like out of stock. I talked to a guy in LEGO official shop and he said he thinks that Palace Cinema and Pet Shop may be retired soon (he also explained to me about LEGO investments and that is why I came to this forum).

PS (post scriptum, not pet shop) where can I get a list of all these abbreviations used in the forum?

ToO is tower of orthanic (10237) I believe there is a post of many abreviations around but can't find it from my phone at the moment.

I've been in this circle before, and it's not really fun getting into here, but Tower of Orthanc has been in red for almost 2 months now and has not come back on the site. Its been way past 30 days. Whereas, PR has been back on the site a few times now. Its mostly in stock over the last few months. I can't remember when the last time PC was in stock.. it's been many months.

So, yes, I believe it means something, and it has nothing to do with caching.

Petshop doesn't seem like it's back in stock. Just seems like they found another 5 or 10 in the warehouse and released it, at which point it was snatched back to OOS in 10 minutes. However, PR is still in stock, so my guess it had a real restock of over 1000 or so.

Pretty much every backordered exclusive is now available for immediate shipment at US shop. PR still out to 30 days, though.

I'm sort of convinced this one will be back. I remember palace cinema going through a long OOS 30 day period earlier this year as well. Now it's been back in force. I really think once the Pet Shop stock depletes, it's gonzo. PR, DO, and PC are going to be around for a while longer.

Question is will they release two modulars next year, or just stick with the BB? If there are two, then I could see PC go next year, but we'll see. I'd be shocked if PR retired. Even on the back of the BB box, it shows DO, BB, and PR.

This is an old thread, thought I might bring it back to life a bit over the next few weeks and not clog up anything else. Some people may find value in it, others will ignore and that's cool. Just want to throw some info out there. I may use this thread to show items that are coming in and out of stock (not crazy updates, but hopefully interesting ones). I think it will be useful to see if Amazon will have anything left in their own inventory by Christmas/New Years. Will there be anymore big sales? It is starting to get a bit of slim pickings there and you guys are starting to clear everything else out I will see what I can do about mapping it to the other retailers as well. Maybe some of you can use this info to sell some sets that are hard to find. If you have suggestions, let me know and I will see what I can do.

This looks is an old thread but just trying to find the best place fot my questions:

Some questions about the Shop @ Home inventory on retiring sets: a particular item. I'm watching (Vestas) is suspected to retire this year, went on sale on BF and sold out. The sale price remained on the page and the status moved from SO to TOOS for about a week, up until today. As far as I know, it never came back in stock but now shows SO instead of TOOS. Ive been checking often since it has had no "in stock alert" button and since when these BF items do pop up (example Steamboat Willy), the sale price is still good (plus it's priced perfect to get the skating rink promo). What prompts Shop @ Home to change an item from TOOS to SO when it never came back in the first place? Did they originally think more were coming and then found out they weren't? Maybe it did come back for a moment and I missed it.
