We better be right about this Maze. Or we might be banned indefinitely next year.

Why do you think TLG didn´t put the retiring soon tag on in Europe? So as to allow it to go quietly and not be faced with a 90 day returns barrage that would look like one of @TabbyBoy ´s Tesco click and collect orders.

I only had 4, keeping 1, traded 1 for figures from cloud city including printed boba fett, sending the other 2 into fba. Buy in was roughly $275 each so will make money on the sold ones. Before 75159 it looked like they would already be over $600 and now they are $487 on fba.

I had 10 pieces and sold all for EUR 400-450 immediately after first leaked pictures of new sh.t came. Buy-in was around EUR 336. I was ready to sell them for almost any price, even for EUR 300 with some loss, because:

- it will take ages while new 75159 will retire - it can be again 8 years

- once the 75159 is retired, it will take ages while the prices go higher

- after 10-15 years of waiting, new customers will prefer the new 75159 to old 10188

- the market is flooded by 10188 and will be flooded by 75159, so the increase will be very slow

- there is still a risk of new remake of this set

- keeping such expensive sets for a long time is horrible investment policy - if i sell 10188 even for EUR 300, in 10-15 years i can turn this amount in better sets, which bring me much more than the market price of 10188 after 10-15 years.

So i think only fools will keep this set and only fools will buy it in future.

I just purchased another one a couple days ago.

Selling them as well (when an offer is worth it) - but not in any rush.

There are still lots of ways to pull profit from this set.

Don't get me wrong - 10188 has been an overall disaster (when I get my time machine working, I won't be buying them again).

Post your buy-in price or it didn´t happen!

Yes, indeed. At that price I´d be in for 3 too. Any clue as to why it was so cheap? NISB?

Yes, NISB - It had been a gift for someones kid (who never opened it), it eventually sat in a closet for a number of years before the sellers must have decided to clean out their closet.

This still does happen, but not nearly as often (or as absurdly) as it used to. It was once pretty common to find the early UCS, Modulars, Sculptures, etc. at around cost

Turning $100 into $800-$1,000 - Now that was like striking gold.

Yeah, they are by no means worthless if bought at 30% off or better but anyone who paid RRP or over is in for a long and bumpy ride if they missed the selling window.

We´ll see how original UCS Snowspeeder and Falcon values also drop this year.

I feel very fortunate the Amazon scammers were not as prevalent in the big LEGO set market as they are now.  I was able to get rid of my 10+ over a 2-3 week period and squeeked out a profit.
