I would pass if I was you. Yes there will probably be meat left on the bone, but there will all ways be other great sets. people got these on discount too, I would want to compete with other sellers on as even a field as possible

This is on ebay uk @ £450 average price wow. Anyone think this will be £600 by march in uk market??

Wouldn't surprise me if 1 or 2 sold at that amount but the higher it goes the more will come onto the market as peoples "targets" are reached.  I'm probably going to be proved wrong in 3 months but I'd say this hits £500 average relatively soon.
Although seeing as my expectations have been blown out of the water on the bigger retiring exclusives this year my "insight" is valid about on par with excels rand() function :)

Sounds good to me I reckon £500 or so too. Yeah you have a point about as prices rise people will start offloading their sets and we would see a reduction in price well see.

650 euros starting price Ebay Europe now. Following a similar pattern to Red 5 but maybe not quite as frenetic.  The late coming resellers are going to be near the limit of what they consider a safe buy-in and then things should settle in around 650-675. Or not?

It will probably do what the SSD did, slowly into $650 the first 4-5 months and then heading towards $1000 within a year.

I think we have seen all recently retired exclusives gain 50% on RRP very quickly but what happes thereafter is very different. Doubt DS will replicate SSD as there are a lot more around - although it is a lot more popular, granted. How the new DS is will also condition things A LOT.

Word on the street is if you want to be the one that gets to post "Retired in US", you better start F5ing late tonight.  I believe we'll either wake up to a Retired status or it will happen tomorrow sometime.  I'm happy for all of you who have had to sit on these for years.  Your day is finally coming.

I would be surprised if it got to $1,000 that fast. The SSD and wasn't as hoarded and it's retirement caught everyone by surprise. The DS 10188 is a very popular set but Lego made enough for folks to buy ever since Ep 7 was announced in Oct 2012.

I agree with what you are saying and add that the SSD is a BEAST and a unique set in the Lego world, it's no moon ;)

^ By the time my first reply (ever on this site) posts, it'll probably be gone by then, oh wells...

My 2 cents...I am ~confirming~ (as told to me by both a B&M Lego store employee and an employee at SAH/LEGO Shop at Home) that it is indeed "retired"/retiring.

Specifically -

B&M: "It's retired". [Employee's exact words. (last week in store, week of Christmas)]

Phone Rep: "It's true. It's gone/going"

^Take those for what they're worth.

Still... I won't be surprised (like some of you) if TLG decides to stretch it out for another few months to a year.

I'm not new to Lego Building, but still brand new to this site. Please be gentle.
