does anyone know if the Death Star, when assembled, will fit in an Ikea Detolf display case?

NO, it will not fit, not even close.   The issue is the width and depth.   Even if you remove the dish & lasers, it still won't fit.

that was my impression. I just wanted to get confirmation. I just got a used one and was trying to decide where I would put it.

The dimensions of the Death Star are roughly 19" square and the Detolf shelves are right around 15" square (the height between the shelves is just enough to fit a HH).

We don't advertise scams anywhere on the forums. If you are in doubt just PM a MOD with your inquiry and we will be more than happy to help you out. Common sense always prevails though ;)

If you are really interested, this is a good resource on understanding the most common scam, how to recognize it, and what to to if you fall victim to it.

Hanging is by far the best way to display it.  It has a hollow core, so we used a small piece of wood painted black with an eye bolt and picture hanging wire.  That way its supported from the bottom.  Merry Christmas.

And what set is next to FB? I am hoping it is a MOC as I don't need to be finding any more sets to buy.

Yes, instructions I bought online.  http://www.brickbuilderspro.com/queen-anne-victorian-instructions/  I wasn't totally satisfied as there were some odd arrangement of parts inside and no spark of creative build techniques.  I think the designer builds only in LDD and not physical, so there are some nuances that would be done differently if you had actual bricks in hand.    Looks good on the shelf though!

Hi,

I'm a newbie. Is it still a good time to buy death star @ $500 given that I want to hold it up for 2-3 years? And what would be the expected price at that time given previous versions?

Thanks,

Muhieddine
