the only good thing about this set is the 25 figures, many of which are exclusive to this set.

i have 2, one mint, sealed in shipping box from lego, and another that the box has been opened and is damaged on - i have been thinking about building that one!

"the ONLY good thing"?  You're joking, right?!?

Dear playwellusa,

Have you checked completed auctions on the Lego Death Star you are asking $800 for, you no these are still being made and everybody has then for $400 free shipping and no tax. When this set retires it will take about 2 years before it will be worth $800 hey Maybe somebody will pay $800 from you, but really have you checked what these sell for.

Anybody that doesn't check completed auctions to see what that item has went for in the last 30 days, well I guess that have no idea whats going on about E-bay.

There are a lot of those sorts of people though

I sold a set with a fixed price or best offer, and someone paid the fixed price before I received any offers. That's happened twice, actually. People are strange, when you're a stranger.

You should send this guy a message and ask why he is listing a funhouse for 99 bucks when anybody can get it for 40 from toysrus ebay or lego store.

Oh wait...he sold it for 99. Never mind. I see idiots paying double retail for easy to obtain sets DAILY.

Got to keep in mind that one ships worldwide.

The only question to ask is: "How can I sell like that on a daily basis ?"

Lol the guy sold B-Wing for $250 on May 5th.  Assuming he got that the day before for $100, that was almost 100% profit after fees and shipping

I just sold 2 6869 for $120 plus $70 for shipping to Russia and Indonesia. I paid $40 at Walmart for them. I went ahead and added them to my store so I didn't forget to list them after they went EOL. $120 was the price I wanted to get out of them later but sooner is better than later right?

Since many people get free listings a month it doesn't surprise me to see listings like this. It doesn't cost him anything to keep it listed for the next 2 years as long as eBay doesn't change their policies.

There are all sorts of insane prices on items that are still available. It's not just related to Legos.

I often wonder what some sellers on ebay are smoking.

But oh well, their stuff, they can ask whatever they want.

I've read much of the discussion on the Death Star and how it refuses to go EOL. I want to pick up a set for investment only (no Intent to open). At what price would you pull the trigger? Thanks for your opinions.

Anything below $350 is a pretty good price. Amazon has had it for $358 or so for long periods of time, but below that is just about as low as you can expect. Another way you can pick it up cheap is waiting for double VIP points then using a 10% discount. Assuming you don't have withering tax, you could have a great deal.
