All the patience in the world won't matter when there are 500 sellers for every buyer.

The magic word is patience. If I'm not rich in 5 minutes... well the bubble is over. The party burst. I'm out...

Everyone has a different investment strategy, so I have to ask are there better places to put my money now rather than waiting for a $500 Town Hall to make it to $1000?

Interesting question. Would you rather have a Town Hall or a Death Star plus $100?

Oh boy watch out for the NOOB..... In for 2. (1 LEGO Shop at Home, 1 amazon)

This wasn't part of the plan 5 months ago when I bought my first set ever, a F40. Now I have 3 F40's, sea cows, DS's, tons of this stuff. I can't go a day without buying something. Oh boy who's going to pay these CC bills LOL. J/K, I'm in it for the long term if I must be...

GL everyone.....

think the talk of this set not being valuable is totally off base

I am selling the mandelorian speeder for 50 bucks the coruscant police gunship for 90 bucks, the star wars black han solo for 44 bucks

just a few months ago you could not give these things away

and that droid gunship ? it was doing awful too and taking off

everyone has a right to their opinion but people believing acquired inventories or that it has been active too long are going to be enough to keep this set price down I think are in for a rude awakening

but to each his own

Was thinking the same thing. I remember negativity as the SSD neared retirement... Anyone who passed has to be kicking themselves at this point. While the supply for DS will be larger, the market will be too IMO

Well I picked a hell of a day to take my car in for new pads and rotors.  DS or brakes?  Decisions decisions....

Who needs brakes?  Just keep the car in low gear?  LOL

Well... I haven't serviced my new car anymore since I started this hobby two years ago. There were always more urgent expenses.

It was priced many years ago, plastic is worth more now, big huge pieces, it's a beast.  It was also priced many years ago.

Come on, the cost of plastic in this set is like $2.99

Ed. Any credibility to Just2Good's post about the '16 DS?

I think there probably is.  Just2Good obviously has some major connections within LEGO and has too much consistent insider information to be ignored.  The question is whether or not the new Death Star will have an huge effect on the 10188's appreciation.  Personally, I don't think it will because of the new movie characters and scenes.  If it is a set similar to the 10143 but finished, the 10188 could explode.  Even another play set could be much, much different.  The 10188 is a classic.  It will be missed.

That's nothing. I have been engagement ring shopping. Now I'm thinking do I want a wife or a garage full of Death Stars....
