It's in completed auctions:

Same seller sold 1 tonight with 350 Euros starting price and offer accepted, another one on the 13th for 379 starting price and offer accepted, a third one in an auction that ended at 380 Euros on the 12th and two more for 379 on the 11th.

For everybody that finds his offers attractive ...I think I got an offer for you, you can't refuse

No paypal buyer protection either. But what could possibly go wrong?

I understand what you are saying. But UCS MF was not available as long as DS. Production was limited. I hope you are right and DS will surprise everyone. I have three and I am keeping it at three. Cause I am sure it will take some time before this set becomes anything near to scarce. I agree that when it becomes scarce it will do very well. But how long do we have to wait for that to happen? Or will it skyrocket right away due to investors buying them from other resellers?

I know I am (maybe too) sceptical. But this set takes a big bite out of your budget. That is why being precautious is justified.

This set is not for everyone.  Many people have sold theirs 2-3 years ago and made money with those dollars.  At this point, I'm figuring it has a very limited shelf life and it did exhibit strong growth when it "sold out" months ago, so that is a great indicator of possible strong returns in the future.

Despite the number of these I have on my shelf, I haven't been real high on this set for a while, but I am beginning to think again that it is going to do a-ok when it sells out for good.

Ordered the  10188 Death Star v140 online on Oct 6th from Lego Shop US.

The manufacturing data on the outer brown Lego cardboard box mentions: supplier 372, country Mexico and date 150919.

It is practically less than one month old.

No change in box design or art. No mention of Disney.

This set has sold enough to remain in production for close to a decade. I don't see it retiring unless it is replaced with another version like the recent MF.

Maybe but on another hand, is easy to add extra graphics on the boxes.

It´s probably not because of that or they would have done it already.

Retiring the pre 75060 sets  would be to give maximum  shelf exposure to sets related to the current movie and Rebels series. There may also be merchandising sales targets and comissions on the new wave of sets to meet.

OT and 1-3 stuff just confuses people and gives excess choice. Then you get the people disappointed their buy is not in the new film etc etc.

Exclusives/UCS that are not sold in most shops are a different thing.

I´ll stress again - at least 26 play sets are coming in confirmed 1q 2016 so 26 should go out which fits up to the Sandcrawler!
