Is it time to "watch increased activity in EV thread" ?

my bm has two shelves full of EV's and one full of petshops. DS should be done by the years end. In the least they will come with a redesigned box and higher pricetag if the license does get a renewal, which is very doubtful.

I've seen this bit posted a few times about licenses on the license for individual sets within a licensed theme. I highly doubt there are license agreements for every set within a line. I would imagine that as long as TLG has the license to a produce sets for Star Wars, they have the ability to decide how long they are going to produce a particular set.  Otherwise it would have gone something like, " Hey, George, it's Mark over at LEGO. Yea, about that UCS B-wing, it sucks. Do you mind if we pull the plug a little early on that one?"

what about possible box redesigns.  With Disney involved can they ask for Disney logos on older sets that did not have them before they purchased SW rights?

If those sets are around for the holidays I would imagine Disney would prefer they have a Disney logo on it for marketing reasons.

Figure the 2 agreements are separate and can't remember a time before where something with this magnitude of changes right before a huge movie release has happened but seems like Disney has the pull to do that to keep all parties happy seeing they kind of go hand in hand now.

Just questions that I have no idea on so figured you might have some insight.

I just bought one from eBay for $320 including shipping, with a description (via questions) of used, with broken seals and some box damage but all inner boxes intact.

It arrived today, just as described. The box has some tape marks and ripped off graphics (about 2% of total surface area) and the outer seals are broken. But all four inner boxes are sealed and mint, so is the instruction manual.

I think this was a good pick-up for my collection at $320 (I didn't previously own one), but what do you think for resale?

How much will tape damage and broken outer seals affect price? 5% off new? 10%? It's certainly going to beat any "used" set out there. Kind of a new one for me. What do you think?
