I am not so sure about the Tumbler being highly hoarded. It still has limit 1 on SaH. And I have not seen it at normal retailers yet.

Well, the "We are making more!" notation was for 4 highly popular sets...Tumbler...Santa's Workshop...Death Star...Pet Shop.  If someone else knows of another, please list it.  It's kind of a subtle note to resellers if you ask me...basically saying don't buy these sets Mr./Mrs. Reseller, they are popular and it's a waste of your time because we are going to continue to produce them.

I believe the first message of such nature, although not similar , was on Research Institue .

I think it's TLG basically saying, "Thank you, Reseller Monkeys for doing your jobs so well! We're just going to hit the "on" button on the factory again and make a crapload more. I'm off to cash our next bag of checks. See ya suckas!"

I'm only half kidding.

I am really wondering what will happen in the near and mid-term future with the exclusive sets. I just cannot help myself thinking that small and non-exclusive sets get retired faster nowadays, And bigger exclusive sets get a longer life. Dunno why. Just a feeling.

Regardless of production run length, I still feel that exclusives are the safer play, as long as you are willing to adopt the "set it and forget it" mentality. Those looking for the rush of the quick sell for a few bucks profit probably will get bored.

Imo, if this glitch is true,  it's an uptick for those who has the money and time.   Those that can last will reap the rewards. It's a way to phase out some players. And I'm sure many are dropping out.   You guys want to keep buying and storing them away, well just keep making more. Either you will start to run out of money and patience or we will run out of plastic.

I thought about this...

Probably the message that they will make more is not aimed at us investors and resellers. It is aimed at the ordinary customer who missed the boat. It is simply saying: "Do not go out and buy this product for inflated prices from reseller scum on ebay and/or other platforms. We are making more. Just be patient and do not panic".

edit: Also aimed at Darin.

its never a safe play.

don't forget the sales channel and the issues that are going to pop up.

there is likely potential of 10%-20% issues on exclusives sales. be prepared for the scammers, returns and what not.... you will have to experience when you sell...

I don't get marking it sold out with that dumb message. Why not just have it toos if it's coming back? Did the phones just get so overwhelmed they decided to do another run? Lego is doing some odd stuff these days.

I really think they got so many calls they decided to put up the note to stop the calls.

while I called I imagine most calls are end users asking and not mass resellers

i think they already had the run planned they just had to reveal it to stop being bothered

y'all remember what happened with the architecture studio?  I think it said sold out as well for several months - went from 160 to 400 for several months and now back in stock and staying that way for quite some time.  Difference here is that the studio was only around a year but ds been around for 7+.  I want to believe it is done, but when the Lego store employees say they are told they should expect more shipments later and it is corroborated by others, I have to believe it is coming back.  Only when it says retired on the Lego web site would I say 100% it's done.
