I expect a restock, which will be a bummer, but I think it will probably be the last.  There are two superweapons in the new movie and I don't personally believe Lego will do a remake of the Death Star.

Then again, if Lego was a public company and I was a large shareholder, I'd probably be upset to see them retire this set.

The worst!

I just got shouted at for a dozen or so run on sentences. His feedback may speak for itself but I wish he would learn a little auction etiquette and not shout at his potential customers!

So are we talking what, one DS, two tops, to sell so I can afford that sweet set of 24K dentures?  Maybe a third DS to pay the dentist.  Lego investing rocks.

$80 is $80. Buyers remorse from restock isn't covered under ebay terms and conditions. Rinse repeat x10 is $800. At the end of the day you would still have the $800, the "what ifs" on returns will always be there at $600 and $1000

Different strategies for everyone, but I cleared a grand on polybags at xmas (net) because other resellers had different strategies (don't want to clear just $4-$5 per poly), and I had my grand to reinvest somewhere else

With as much feedback as that guy has, it's probably ok. But, that description is one of the worst I've ever read.

Yes, that was painful to read. I see the listing has ended. Did anyone here buy it? It would be interesting to see what was actually included.

if buying from a solid retailer, i open one side to make sure it's the correct set and then just leave it in the shipping box after sealing it back up on the 1 side

Do you guys leave the Death Stars in their shipper packages from Lego or do you open it up to inspect. Thanks in advance

I noticed that death star is marked 'sold out' on lego.com store. From my past experience, anything marked 'sold out' means it's retired. I worry this set is retired and thinking to rush to get it from craigslist.

However, I think it's not the case...

1. I noticed it's still available in lego.com European site. (it's not even out of stock)

2. I talked to local lego B&M store, the sale person told me they are expecting another shipment soon. And the sold out tag is simply mis-labelled. It should be simply 'out of stock'.

Okay, do you think deathstar is going to retire soon (or retired?)

This happens all the time. Because of different supply and demand sets will "retire" in one region and still be available in another.

You sir have a lot of reading to do... About 30 pages worth in this thread alone. All of your questions (and more) have been answered in previous posts.

Enjoy your evening whilst you read!

Wow... that guy got $335 for that listing.  Really tempting me to put my son's used, guaranteed 100% complete set on ebay. (worst dad ever) :)

PR is sold out in UK?

Together with Palace Cinema, Pet Shop and Birds (Death Star and Kwik-E-Mart were mentioned already). So this can't be true. Numbers at Brickset say yesterday there were 4399 units of Kwik-E-Mart in storage, 237 units of DS, 314 units of Palace Cinema, 1734 units of Pet Shop, ...

So I guess none of these sets are really "sold out" in Europe.
