I am a sucker for quality, and in the case of mugs it means porcelain. However I would accept these if they would be made from porcelain. I agree, probably why they don't hold much coffee. To fit an American sized coffee it would need to be 30x the size of a minifigure's. Silly Americans and our super sized big gulp king obsessions! I imagine that any more than that and the handle would have been too big. They're definitely more of a novelty and maybe (just maybe) ok for kids. There's nothing on the cup nor in the directions to indicate how much it holds. I'd guess 8 oz. it might be closer to 6 oz though.
