Sauromosis
Very impressive. Hopefully they don't over-expand. The Chinese factory will be interesting to watch and see how that affects everything, though not until 2017.

diablo2112
28.6 Billion DKK = $4.6 Billion USD $4.6B/85 Million Kids = $54.11/kid Now for some guesstimates which provide interesting data: You're welcome to change these assumptions if you care. Assume average set wholesale cost (over the entire product range) is $30: $4.6B/$30 = 153 Million sets Assume 1500 different sets in production (taken from 2011-2015 set numbers and guessing retirements): 153 Million/1500 ~ 100,000 units/set (per year) Most interesting.... diablo2112
As another way to calculate how may sets Lego makes each year, you can find bits of data on the net. This article states "Approximately 7 Lego sets are sold every second around the world". This yields: 7 sets/sec x 3600 s/hr x 24 hr/day x 365 day/yr = 220 Million Sets/year. Surprisingly close to the figure in the post, above (153 Million). Make of this what you will, I'm a data junkie and love these kinds of analysis.
