Roy vd M. Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 (edited) For an upcoming blog about vintage Lego collecting and investing I built this from a box backside picture: Anyone knows or wants to guess what (very commonly seen) set this is? Shoot Edited February 4, 2016 by Roy vd M. 1 Quote

Roy vd M. Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Well spotted, especially given the fact that only the bottom side of the box had a picture of this vehicle and it wasn't featured in the instructions. Quote
Guest brickcrazyhouse Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 red pump only came in two sets, tires matched only one set. Quote
Roy vd M. Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 The push pump was only in this set and in the excavator set 8851 (also a nice one, recently built it again... childhood memories...) but the regular pump is even rarer: it's the only one in this color in any set (ref.: Bricklink). Or well... in fact it isn't rare at all of course, as 8040 was the Pet Shop of its time. Ok to keep this on topic I'll post another 8040 model I built for the blog (I keep telling myself "it's for the blog so I SHOULD play with utilize my Lego"): 2 Quote
midbenne Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Well technically my son built but I found these guys after we did the mini build today... 1 Quote

Until now I built 7 out of 11 models, some I already built once before a couple of years ago, and I must say that this set really is a treat. I can't even begin to describe how much fun it is and how many hours of play one can get from this set even by following instructions and trying to redo pictured models. Everything was very cleverly designed. I'll show vids of all the models in action. To keep this on topic I'll show one more model. 3 Quote
Dr. Brick Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Just built these golden oldies. Remember these? 3 Quote
Alpinemaps Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Here's a couple things I've built the last couple of days: 20019 NYCC 2012 Landspeeder 60073 Outhouses (for my Fairgeound) Micro Mystery Machines 4 Quote
thoroakenfelder Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 @Alpinemaps I don't have access to bricklink/brickstock from work, and might forget later are any of the pieces of that landspeeder rare? Quote

Battrax Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 I built the 10241 Maersk EEE last night. Beautiful and imposing thing; I feel my instincts were correct on this one. Anyway, this example had a damaged box with a bag that ripped open so bought it at less than the going resale price. Having to check everything was in there was an excellent excuse to build it. Haven't applied the stickers, though; I may disassemble and sell it later. Will post some photos later. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Built a couple more things tonight: 4488 MF 20010 Republic Gunship And a couple of trash cans from 10680 for my Fairgrounds 4 Quote
Quacs Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 7785 Arkham Asylum - nice set, but it's no 7783 Batcave... 2 Quote

I did like it nearly as much as the newer AA. The playability is nice for 7785 considering the age. I also love the overall look of 7785 (if The Scarecrow took over AA). 1 Quote
Clintonjoseph Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 My first Ninjago set. Wu Dragon. Got it for $20 at Walmart this week. I've wanted it since I first saw it, I really like all the different pieces they used especially on the dragons head. Unikitty tails and croissants. The colors look cool and the minifigs are neat. I got a Morro dragon for $35 too, so I'm looking forward to that. 1 Quote

Yinchuan Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Ah, my long lost friend! Good to see one again. I really liked the picture windows and the curtains in this set. Love the grocery store and room for some creativity on the other floors Quote
