What LEGO set did you build today?

I built the first half of the 10218. It was a really enjoyable build with some cool details.

I think it would be neat seeing an entire row of that building in various color schemes especially considering it is an empty apartment waiting for some new family to move in. I've seen a modified Green Grocer which used the sand blue pieces from the Pet Shop and thought it looked neat for a change of pace.

Slowly working on Diagon Alley 10217.  I've got the first book / building put together.  Missing two tan 1x2 plates.  Annoying.  (This is from a bulk build).  I thought I grabbed everything, but I guess not.

Can't find any ore in my inventoried stuff, so I'm going to have to go dig though my unsorted bulk.  Yuck.

I agree. It would be a cool neighborhood model.

I've really enjoyed the different color bricks on both buildings.

I finished the first floor of the Pet Shop earlier today.

Hate when that happens. That happened to me last month when I was building some older ninja sets. I was missing a small piece, that I thought I picked up when I was taking inventory.

Nice touch with the lights! I did that some time ago when the Cafe Corner and other modulars had just came out, looks great during Christmas!

What did you light it up with? That looks great.

Thank you!

I used some small LEDs that were leftover from my wedding decorations. I'll post the link below. I think I may need to order some more anyway. :)

EDIT: if you look at the similar items on the product page it looks like you can get a lot more lights for around $20.00.

A couple Viking sets from a bulk buy: Viking ship and Viking fortress. Simple builds but still pretty sweet - I'm mad I missed these during my dark ages. fortress is repetitive but massive once done!

I was gonna sell them but I'm tempted to keep! Haha

I am hoping the Vikings line makes a return to the Lego line up. These are truly masterpieces, with awesome minifigs and cool Bionicle-based dragons.

Nicely done with the lot.

To the people who have used lights to accentuate the modular buildings: Have you used primarily white lights or do you use different coloured lights?

Thanks!

Since pirates have been rumored, you think if they did this too they would poach each other a bit? Seem like a similar crowd into them.

Possibly - you need ships if you're doing a Vikings line and that's probably the most similar theme to Pirates.

I think they could bring Vikings back even if Pirates is out, although they wouldn't release them at the same time.  If Pirates is released in January 2015, there's no reason they couldn't release Vikings in January 2016.

Been really busy the last couple of months, so this is really an over-due and large update for the last (approx. ) 3-4 months. I`ve built:

Mini-Cooper (beautiful set, honestly I enjoy it more than the Camper, though it is excellent as well)

Ecto-1

Falling Water (looks gorgeous on one of my office shelves)

Eiffel Tower

Benny`s Spaceship

R2-D2 (I finally, finally got a copy of this set. Amazing display, one of my favourite sets of all time. Easily, it`s awesome!) Been sitting on display at home for a couple months now, and it`ll stay that way, of course keeping up with the dust is sometimes a challenge haha!

Also a few Lego Movie sets, Constitution train, a couple creator sets (Cat/Mouse, Bird/Monkey, plane, etc.), and that`s pretty much it. Now it`ll likely be a few months before I post in this thread again!  :cheese:

Just finished the Fire Brigade...now I get the hype.  Awesome design and details.  For some reason, it reminded me of the 7946 King's Castle...wouldn't be surprised if the same designer worked on both.  Just a nice, tight design.

If you're new at this and have the capital, snag at least one sealed now before it takes off.

Glad you liked it! Yes, awesome set, as all modulars (one a little more than the other)

Designer of Fire Brigade (and most other modulars) was Jamie Berard. Preciously he worked on the creator line so unlikely he designed that castle, but I will say it looks nice.

Finished 10217 Diagon Alley from Harry Potter.

For the most part, I enjoyed the build. Lots of little details. Loved the colors and the techniques.

However, even the manual, trying to figure out the colors sometimes...ugh! The printing in the manual was terrible. I couldn't tell the difference between black, brown, dark red, and reddish brown.

This is a big issue that Lego has IMO.  You would think it would be a simple fix too, not sure why they don't fix it...

Lately, I have built, the Exo Suit, Ecto. Trevi Fountain (great set really), and the mini tumbler.  Nothing big really, but still had some fun.

Especially frustrating for me, as I'm going to resell this thing.  Despite inventorying it before putting it together, I've got extra parts, and I'm not positive I've got everything.  I'm going to have to tear this thing about and carefully reinventory it.  It would be nice if I knew I got all the colors right from the start.
