Guest brickcrazyhouse Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 built the landspeeder to go with the sandcrawler damn work I want to call out to build Quote
eferna Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Built a couple of sets i got off a lot. Some of them still missing a few pieces. 1 Quote
knarrff Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I built about 1/2 of a large pink box with one of my little ones. We had both fun - I sorting and looking for the right bricks, and she building. Both were proud after that. Quote
djim Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I finished the MK II Crane and am starting on the Pet Shop! Good times. I'm about 2 months out of my Dark Ages. Having fun!! 2 Quote
leenoack83 Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I built some Star Wars stuff that I picked up for $40 at a yard sale this weekend. 7749 Echo Base, 8017 Darth Vader's Tie Fighter, 7673 MagnaGuard Starfighter, 7748 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid, 8036 Separatist Shuttle, and 7915 Imperial V-Wing (plus a pile of extra random minifigs). Pretty straightforward relaxing builds for the most part, except for having to deal with 60-odd missing pieces despite the guarantee that the sets were all 100% complete (Direct quote from the seller: "Oh yes, we went through them all and double checked that the pieces were all there"). It got me thinking about my used/bulk lot pet peeves and I couldn't decide what bugs me more: sets listed as complete that are actually missing a bunch of pieces; kids who are almost disturbingly incapable of applying stickers; or the ridiculous amount of human hair that seems to find its way into every bin of LEGO that I come across. Guest TabbyBoy Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 8256 Go Kart - took all of 15 minutes during my lunch break. Nice little set though even though it's now passed its peak in value. Quote
mudcatsfan Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Just an FYI, That Vader Tie has its wings on backwards. Unless that's how it ended up after the Falcon knocked it off Luke's tail. In which case, NICE CUSTOM Built Quote
Ed Mack Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 I built the 10241 Maersk Triple E. Great set. Too many stickers, but one of my favorite display sets. Love the colors and accuracy of the set. 1 Quote
Sauromosis Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Arkham Asylum...awesome level of detail. Recently built Diagon Alley and was oddly disappointed. The buildings each seem too small. Quote
Fcbarcelona101 Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Currently working on the 10143 Death Star. Bought it for re-sale, but happy I will get the chance to build it and display for a while. Quote
naf Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Finally finished the R2 that we bought in store for May 4. We built a bag a night before bedtime. Fun build, now we need an appropriately scaled C3PO 1 Quote
Stevenplays Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Builta new Arctic set, smallest of the bunch, the name sadly escapes me. Found it at a TRU at retail I believe. Finally finished the R2 that we bought in store for May 4. We built a bag a night before bedtime. Fun build, now we need an appropriately scaled C3PO Sounds like that will be the new 500 dollar USC SW set, eh? A guy can hope. Quote
darkside2SIX Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Just finished the new sandcrawler. It's pretty effin awesome. Not sure if I should try and sell the other three complete, or part em out. Thoughts? Quote
exciter1 Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Built the Ninjago: Ninjacopter tonight. It actually is really solid and a nice set for a 6-8 year-old to play with. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 8059 Seabed Scavenger from the Atlantis collection. It was a set within a big bulk purchase I made off CL a couple months ago. I'm finally sorting the lot. There's a few other Atlantis sets in here, along with Fallingwater, one of the Creator houses, some City sets, and a couple Star Wars sets. I'm slowly figuring out what's here, and I've got most of the sets pegged. For the most part, everything is 95%-100% complete. Quote
knarrff Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 After a lot of sweat (it is hot outside here), I finished an 1221 today, 45% off. This came just as school ends and the kids have to loose some of their energy every day at home. :-/ Quote
Huskers1236 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Watched the little one build the mini T1 Camper the other day. Maybe one of the best polybags ever, especially for a freebie. Quote
terrymc4677 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 My son and I are about 3/4 finished building the R2D2 I bought off eBay last week. Used but complete (so far so good) for $130. All we have left is the head. What an amazing and incredibly detailed model! I have several sealed but always wanted to build one, which is why I bought the used one last week. Sent from my iPad using Brickpicker 2 Quote
Alpinemaps Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I'm working on the White House right now at my office. I usually put a couple steps together while I'm on a conference call (it's nice to be the boss). Quote
knarrff Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Not actually built anything, but sorted out: from a lot which looked like a lot of Friends (and was), the rest looked suspiciously like a large pink box. Well - after going through the inventory of the latter and removing everything that could come from that it was pretty clear that I was right. Sadly not complete though: no minifigs, no baseplates, no wheels - most car parts are missing. This took quite a lot of my "rest" away, which can be seen as "good" or "bad". Good because I actually made some progress with guessing and sorting, and bad because I was hoping for more "Friends". In the end it is not all that bad - because while this incomplete pink box couldn't be really sold for anything, I know a little girl that got such a pink box new not long ago herself (guess why I recognized the assortment of parts), and would certainly not mind a few more of the same bricks. Quacs Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Just built the 70727 Kai's X-1 Ninja Charger. It's a pretty slick set, and when finished the car has that brawny 70s muscle car vibe. Love it. 1 Quote
chinchy Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I built the 6419 Paradisa Rolling Acres Ranch... From a large lot of used sets that I bought. Now I have to build all the other Paradisa sets to find some of the missing pieces.. Quote
MartinP Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I finally finished building my R2-D2 after starting to build it five months ago. Great set and display piece. 2 Quote
