nolanfan34 Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I finished building the 4842 Hogwarts Castle I posted in the trade thread. What a fun build and set. Lots of cool details, I was impressed. And only a few missing pieces, haha. Quote
seapotato Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Built rancor pit and hoth echo base. I'm really going at it with the sorting of the bulk lot I picked up ages ago. Need to clean up the basement! Sent from my iPod touch using Brickpicker Quote
Jimking23 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Built my first set with my 9 year old granddaughter, 75015 alliance tank. She loved it! She has already talked me into building a 60016 tanker truck, after finishing the tank. I'm starting to think I know how Dr Frankstein felt Quote

Quacs Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 70807 Metalbeard's Duel Awesome set! Great to hear, kenchu. I'm looking forward to building this one too. I love the MetalBeard character. I'm kinda hoping LM2 gives us more MetalBeard (and cowbell - I've got a feva!). Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker Quote
DoNotInsertIntoMouth Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Just built 42011 Racecar. Pretty tremendous little set for $20. I think this is a serious darkhorse set. It was selling for about $35 during Christmas. I liked the build and it looks pretty sweet built. Lot of stickers, but still pretty solid. Quote
El Guapo Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Built 60025 Grand Prix Truck with the 6 year old. Really cool little set...not my first choice but my son likes it and wanted a race car. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Gave my 6 year old daughter Cloud Cuckoo Place from the Lego Movie for Valentine's Day. She and I put it together tonight. It's a lot of fun. I really like the colors, and there are some unique pieces to it. I've got two more sets here (because I've parted out the minifigs for the other two sets). I'm keeping the rest of the pieces, and we're going to start putting together a mega palace. Quote
strangeboy Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Yesterday, I treated my former manager (AFOL, too) at work to a LEGO lunch on his last day of work. We spent ~2-3 hours building 7965 in a meeting room that had a nice 5' round table. We took turns pulling pieces from the bag piles into trays (Lean Cuisine plastic trays are perfect for this) while the other one built. Some very nice interior details to this version of the MF. If you have one in your investment pile, it's worth building as the MF is still available for purchase. If nothing else, you'll never need light gray pieces again!! Having not built anything larger than polybags or microscale MOCs for some time, it was fun to build something 'substantial'. Quote
strangeboy Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Building the MF (see last post) started something...all investment and no build makes for dull LEGO. I'm 2 minutes away from breaking open the AT-TE that's been next to my desk for the past month. Quote
njseale Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Built a Spidey Cycle Chase with my nephews. Quote

strangeboy Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 do it can't you here the box saying "open me" I done did it. Fun build, the engineering and math inherit in the LEGO system is definitely on display during the build. Quote
Alpinemaps Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 My wife finished building the Winter Village Cottage tonight. Looks pretty cool. I can understand the disappointment with this year's Winter Village Market, not having the one big building in the set. I'm finishing up Bricklinking the Mini Modulars set. Putting in my final orders tonight. Hopefully the parts get here soon, so I can put the darn thing together! Quote
seapotato Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 built superman black zero escape today. Quote
legoaddiction Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Got another 2 Haunted houses today from target. Last 2 on shelf. I think one was a return. I built one soon as I got home 1 Quote
TheOrcKing Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I haven't built it yet but I finally did manage to come up with a virtual design incorporating my three Log Cabins into one modular esque type of build using only the included pieces. I'm quite happy with the layout using such a limited selection in parts and can hardly wait to put it together in real life.On an a more related note, I opened up a couple of Ninjago polybags among others I had lying around in waiting. 1 Quote
BearCrash Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I started working on the Mobile Crane mkII yesterday. It's a very impressive build. It's not yet finished though.I still need to build the boom and I spent 8 hours on it so far. 1 Quote

TheOrcKing Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Please post pics when done.I most assuredly plan to. To note, I just made some good progress with actually building the design from what I worked up in LDD and made a few cosmetic as well as slight structure changes after seeing it in physical form. I am really pleased with how things are looking so far. :paint: Quote
redghostx Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Unimog 8110- It looks excellent, is quite large and was a thoroughly enjoyable build (this surprised me). Ex astris, scientia. Quote
