Popular Post oneknightr Posted July 13, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 13, 2020 I built BricksWithWings' MOC of Buck Rogers Starfighter over the weekend. It's one of my favorite ships and brings back a lot of childhood memories. It's about 400 pieces. The instructions cost $4, and I sourced the bricks from my bulk bin and Bricklink. I spent less than $30. This is the first MOC I've built, and it really makes you appreciate Lego's instruction manuals and build process. Granted, they are a multi-million dollar company and it's unfair to compare them to a fan-designed instruction manual. Overall, I am happy with the build, and I even swooshed it around the house afterwards. The look on my teenage daughter's face was priceless. Side note: I didn't follow the instruction manual for the display stand and ended up building my own stand with bricks I had on hand. 11 Quote

Ecto Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 I think this is technically the right thread. I've been doing brick built stop-motion on TikTok lately. Finally built 31033 last night after having it sit in my backlog for years now. https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6849302647225322757 Red Car from 31033: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6847094112550718725 Ideas Space Rocket Ride 40335: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6834348774924586245 White House 21006: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6835808934952045829 3 Quote

t_mafia Posted July 15, 2020 Posted July 15, 2020 7709 Sentai Fortress. I know this set doesn't get much love (or Exo-Force in general) but I had a great time building it. Quite a bit going on in this set, 2 mechs, 2 tall towers, service area, entry gate and walls. I had to put the towers on the inside for it to fit on the shelf once it was moved, it was almost 3 feet wide without doing that. I think if a set like this was released today under Ninjago it would do really well, but hey, it was cheap even after 10 years of retirement Bonus: I wish Brickset had a tag for "folding box". And that Lego did that anymore in general 4 Quote
Popular Post SLL Posted July 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 15, 2020 my kid built them. I contributed by applying the stickers. 12 Quote

Popular Post Furious_george Posted July 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted July 18, 2020 The missus just finished this. It’s way bigger than I was expecting and very detailed. 11 Quote
Ecto Posted July 19, 2020 Posted July 19, 2020 Finished the Joker Bricksketch this morning. Much more interesting and substantial compared to the Batman build. One interesting feature of the Joker is that if you throw him up on a wall or shelf, the eyes tend to follow you due to the way they're sunk into his face. Really creepy. Here are the stop motion videos I made if you want to see the guts: Joker: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6851210050606730502 Batman: https://www.tiktok.com/@bradtrainer/video/6850814993437379845 Overall I really like these sets, but wish they were at the Brickheadz price point or included a minifig. 7 Quote

t_mafia Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 7261 Clone Turbo Tank (non-light up Mace). This set has been a white whale of mine for a while, finally found a mostly complete one for a good price. I thought the build was great and it displays very well, I was surprised at the footprint of it overall. Looks like a centipede atat from the way the picture was taken 3 Quote

Looks like a centipede atat from the way the picture was taken this was the first turbo tank I built as well...cool set but eventually the flimsiness of the end wheels bothered me enough to sell and replace w/ the next version. OT: we are in the middle of Season 6 and the Turbo tank has always been just a glorified backdrop in the series...is there an actual episode coming up where they are highlighted like the other main CW vehicles? 1 Quote

It only appears in 4 episodes of Clone Wars, and you've already seen 3 of the episodes. It's only seen in action on Felucia, and even then it ain't much. 1 Quote
House Schubert Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Built this little blast from the past today. It’s funny to imagine all these little guys sitting here waiting for a few decades for the next battle. 8 1 Quote

I'm actually about half way done with my U-Project right now. I bought the instructions for the TS-Project too so that will probably be my next project. Quote

Alpinemaps Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 The Treehouse was my Father’s Day present. Snagged one when they finally came back @ LEGO Shop at Home at end of May. Finished building it the other day. I loves the build and the attention to detail. I’m going to BL the tree branch bricks so I can build the autumn look and just switch the entire tree limbs. 7 Quote
scatttcat Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 (edited) Built a bunch of random sets to put up for sale. Nothing extraordinary but still pretty fun. Edited July 25, 2020 by scatttcat 4 Quote
