eliminator Posted January 4 Posted January 4 (edited) Finally cut the seals on one of my BL Designer sets. Had a great time building Brick Cross station, but I would have gladly spent extra for printed pieces and instructions. Oddly enough, as I was on the last steps, my Tudor Corner ordered on 1 Jan arrived at the door. Edited January 4 by eliminator 8 Quote
bigfanofnu Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Sourced these through a local FB bulk lot purchase. 3 of about 30 80’s 90’s sets. 9 Quote
eliminator Posted January 9 Posted January 9 (edited) The new Tudor Corner is a great set. I wouldn't say the build experience was particularly revolutionary or special, but the final outcome is quite impressive! Edited January 9 by eliminator 8 Quote

The 6339 Shuttle Launch Pad is one of my favorite sets and the rocket lifting system is well done. Having the minifigures and most of the instructions for the sets you posted is quite the find. The missing sail for the 6271 Imperial Flagship does not cost a fortune. You have valuable sets so far and it will be interesting to see what else you find! Edited January 10 by LegoWalker4 2 Quote
Pseudoty Posted January 10 Posted January 10 (edited) Tranquil Garden, meh, the hook with this set is that you can rearrange the plants, wow? This was an open box return and even if you pick one up for the 20% off permasale it still seems overpriced at $87. Build: 6 Play: 4 Display: 7 Value: 3 Now back to the Botanical Garden enhancements. It's like a zen garden where the zen activity is brushing the dust off it with a makeup brush. 1 2 Quote

LegoWalker4 Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Finished the Star Wars V-19 Torrent set last night. The folding and unfolding wing design is remarkable, done using two Trans-Clear Technic, Shock Absorber 10L Damped - No Spring elements. I bought this set after watching a video on the new V-19 set rumors and seeing how the older set is so unique. No other Star Wars set design seems to be parallels this one, with the possible exception of the asymmetrical Rogue Shadow set (7672). 4 Quote

eliminator Posted February 17 Posted February 17 (edited) Built this with one of my kids. Overall a fun build and more interesting than expected. We only paid $75, so it was worth giving it a shot, despite the lackluster reviews. Might get a light kit... Edited February 17 by eliminator 6 Quote
Mathew Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Alduin vs Brickley. Fight! Lego offers the better build but I gotta give Alduin the overall win. Fragile but epic especially if you’re a Skyrim fan. 1 Quote
Mathew Posted March 26 Posted March 26 I don’t collect the helmets and the AT-AT driver was my first and will be my only. I think it looks cool. Stickers suck. Mainly got it to go with my UCS AT-AT. 7 Quote

Phil B Posted yesterday at 10:53 AM Posted yesterday at 10:53 AM Decided to grab my 3 missing modular before the tariffs hit. Got each for slightly below market value - paid $2.2k before taxes, including a whole lot of replacement parts for yellowing. The Green Grocer had all the white very yellowed which I replaced. A lot of LBG parts were yellowed too, but most I could place in such a way that it wasn't visible from the outside. For Market Street there was minor yellowing on the white, but almost all the light blue had severely yellowed. I was again able to turn the bricks in such a way that it wasn't noticeable.Surprisingly, Cafe Corner was pristine.I now have all the Modulars (but not all of them built yet). That's next on the list.People say these early modulars are not as fun to build as the newer ones, but I had a blast doing this. Probably fueled by the fact that sometimes you are holding a $30 part, or a handful of rare slopes at $3 each. Guess that's the investor in me ;-)Sent from my SM-A326U1 using Tapatalk 4 Quote

Just to clarify there are no tariffs on used merchandise only newly imported. 51 minutes ago, Phil B said: People say these early modulars are not as fun to build as the newer ones, but I had a blast doing this. I thought CC and GG were amazing builds, yes the interiors are lacking compared to today’s modulars, but there is definitely a thrill in building them. MS not so much. 1 Quote

Used items from overseas can be subject to the possibility of tarriff’s so depends on where he bought them. Just paid some myself … Edited 20 hours ago by starwarsxpress 1 Quote

MS not so much. I used pieces from my own collection to construct the Market Street & Cafe Corner years ago. Market Street looks nice, but the build process (mainly the middle floors) were the culprits of repetitive doldrums. Cafe Corner was a better experience on its own overall without any modifications and had significantly more room for an interior. Not a fan of its color scheme compared to Market Street though. I ended up with a Cafe Corner using Market Street's palette. Quote
